well GM is going to provide a fix for all 2016-2016 z06 auto owners next month.
to me that is good news, cause it will force Ford to do the same thing for base/tech 2016 owners.

I have no doubt in my mind that the fixes will be released this year.
Oh i so want to believe you , but i'm fed up with contantly hearing that " a fix is due out any day " to " Ford is not aware of any cooling issues with base/tech cars ".

First I'd like to thank Firestarter and JB350 for turning this into another "BaseTech buyers should have known better" thread.

It's obvious from the amount of Base/Tech owners on this forum that this situation was NOT foreseeable.

I personally bought a performance car that I thought would perform better than a Mustang GT. I didn't get the track package because I've never driven on a track, but thought maybe sometime I would. That dictated the tech package in my mind.

Ford's rep is tarnished to a relatively small group of people, but a group of people who could afford a $56k car. If ford doesn't fix this to my satisfaction then my wife's next SUV will not be a Ford or the next car I buy myself when the GT350 is paid for.
I dont bash any one. Im waiting for a misleading add to be posted.

I said before you guys should track the cars overheating on the street and make your case. If your approach is to cry about you tech over heating on the track its not going to get you far.

Waaaaah! Waaaaah!

Maybe once we get the coolers you guys will stop crying about us discussing it and the insults will cease. Half the posts in most of these threads are someone who doesn't have a tech or a base insulting the tech/base owners.

Believe me it gets old.

It almost makes me want to take my Tech to the track and try to get it into limp mode (or drive it at 120 in 4th gear down the Interstate for a couple of hours on a 99-degree day), just so I can hang out with the cool kids. :roll eyes:

All-new Shelby® GT350 Mustang is a thoroughbred capable of tackling the world’s most challenging roads and racetracks

The original Shelby GT350 introduced in 1965 established the Mustang’s performance credentials. The all-new Shelby GT350 Mustang, featuring the most powerful naturally aspirated Ford production engine ever, is a world-class performance vehicle, designed to tackle the planet’s most challenging roads – an all-day track car that’s also street legal.

The new GT350 builds on Carroll Shelby’s original idea – transforming a great every-day car into a dominant road racer – by taking advantage of a dramatically improved sixth-generation Mustang to create a truly special driving experience. Driving enthusiasts behind the wheel of a Shelby GT350 can expect to be treated to the most balanced, nimble and exhilarating production Mustang yet.

“When we started working on this car, we wanted to build the best possible Mustang for the places we most love to drive – challenging back roads with a variety of corners and elevation changes, and the track on weekends,” said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development. “Every change we made to this car was driven by the functional requirements of a powerful, responsive powerplant – nimble, precise handling, and massive stopping power.”

Track-tuned driveline
Early in the development of the GT350, it was decided that a high-revving, naturally aspirated V8 engine would best suit a track-focused Mustang. “The final product is essentially an all-new powerplant unique to GT350 – “and one that takes true advantage of the new chassis dynamics of the Mustang platform,” said Jamal Hameedi, chief engineer, Ford Global Performance Vehicles.

Obsession to detail
“Everything we changed on GT350 is purely functional-driven design, with the goal of improving the overall performance of the car,” said Chris Svensson, Ford design director, The Americas. “We optimized the aero shape of the car, and then fine-tuned what was left to increase downforce and cooling airflow.” All bodywork from the windshield forward is unique to this high-performance model, and up to two inches lower than Mustang GT.

Only mention I see of coolers is at the bottom

The athletic stance of the all-new Mustang is further accentuated with recontoured aluminum front fenders to accommodate the wider front track and wider wheel arches. Front fender vents work with vented inner fenders to draw out turbulent air in the wheel wells and smoothly direct it down the side of the car. The forward-angled grille is designed with individual openings to draw air through the radiator, high-pressure engine air intake, cooling ducts for the front brakes, and optional with the Track Pack an engine oil cooler and a transmission cooler.

Shelby GT350 has been weight-optimized to balance capability with on-track durability. Lightweight components are engineered to offset added extreme-performance hardware, and, as a result, the standard GT350 tips the scales at 3,760 pounds while the GT350 Track Package weighs in at 3,791 pounds.

OK boys and girls, part numbers from FP for trans and diff cooler kit for tech and base cars. M-7008-M8S and M-7095-M8S , respectively. The guy I communicated with at FP via online chat indicated availability within weeks. Possibly 1-3 weeks.
Shelby American ( went to their place in Lost Wages, NV ) said they are working on coolers as well but 3 months away.

This was in the parts sticky, could it be real?

The skeptic in me says the talk of the cooler fix was so they could sell the rest of the techs

You have a track car right. You should have waited for the 17 then you would have had the tech option ....that you are so interested in.
