Just can't get enuff!
I'm just saying this information was received well after one ordered a base/tech package...
Yup I agree... one of those late/last minute further disclaimers post-delivery. I wouldn't be surprised if the latest Owner's Manual Inserts has that same language now or soon... e.g. version 1.1 revision or whatever.

How long after ordering and paying for your GT350'did this information arrive?
I downloaded the owners supplement on August 15th and that version had this comment:

"For sustained high speeds or track day
use with a Base or Tech model, we
recommend that transmission and
differential coolers are added. Your
vehicle has electronic controls to
reduce power and/or limit RPM to
reduce powertrain temperatures if
required."

That version was:

Yeah, it might as well said the truth...

"We at Ford built a performance car that doesn't perform"

It would have been nice of ford to put it the marketing of the car.

Are you done whining yet?

Ford is working on a solution, everyone agrees it's a problem and it will be resolved.

Maybe I'll be done "whining" when people stop trying to show "proof" that we should've known, but keep ignoring all the marketing, and the naming, and the hype from Ford that shows the entire line of GT350s was meant to be track capable.

I going down the road that the "disbelievers" of limp mode went on... "Show me proof that Ford is working on it". There are no recalls, maintenance notices or press releases.

You are doing your fair share of ignoring the facts - so as you ask everyone else to look at it from both sides, I suggest the same to you.

Or perhaps it's less than sane to accept that a car engineered and marketed the way the GT350 was would require a special version to handle more than 10-20 minutes on the track or sustain high speeds.
They did make a special version, it's called the Track Pack.

So a track pack car is not a full race car. It's a street car that you can take to HPDEs, which usually last 20-25 mins (rare at 30 mins) a session. You're still telling me that since the track pack is marketed for track day sessions of 20-25 minutes - that you're completely surprised that the same car, which is not called a track pack and does not have the same cooling capacity only runs 15-20 minutes? Did you think the coolers were there just for fun? Did you think there was no compromise to not having the coolers? How did Ford convince you of this?

Additionally, when you look at it from the standpoint of the duration of an HPDE session, the Tech isn't doing that bad; I can imagine an inexpensive fix to allow them to get that extra 5 minutes....which is really what you're complaining about - if you're truly looking at the marketing.

No Ive been countering facts. I see people talk about the owners manual, but then say the Shelby was never marketed as a track car.

I've never disputed what the owners manual said. I bring the up, that before the owners manual was available Ford has marketed the Shelby the entire time.

It wasn't like Ford labeled the GT350, GT350LX, GT350T, and GT350R. Maybe they should had and people would had more clearly understood what they were getting. Maybe in all those charts that Ford put out they could have clearly distinguished between zero track capable cars and track capable cars. But they didn't.

What did they do? They hid a line in the owners manual, which by the way even the name indicates that you don't receive the manual until you buy your car. They don't call it a potential buyers manual, do they?

I ordered my GT350 on 6/11/15...[/QUOTE]

And I ordered mine on 5/3/15. We both had plenty of time to change our orders if we wanted to, as did most of the other Tech owners here who ordered their cars. (I thought about it many times, right up until I knew the car was built.) Ultimately, this issue may affect around 2,500 cars, but it only will affect a very small number of owners.

I agree that it was marketed as a track capable car - with different levels of capability. They are clearly not zero capable of track duty.

So 350, 350LX, 350T and 350R make sense to you but 350 Tech and 350 track don't?
