I for one don't want to bug Ford with a call, letter or an email and waste their time. Ford knows about the issues and they know how the owners feel. If I don't hear anything from Ford before the time I first get to the track, then I will find out if I have the issue. If I have the problem with my car, then I will go to Ford.

I come and post here for fun and to vent. Sorry if you feel I am wasting your time. You could just avoid all the threads that are about tech/base cooling issues if you'd like.
Sorry fellow Canuck, but i do agree with Hack. We know you have the top dog in this fight, but if you could be in our shoes for a moment, you'd probably better understand how we feel with this whole limp mode issue.

Move on people.

Btw besides an insert in the manual... this is also found in the Owners Supplemental Kit (the huge box/gift that each of you will get).

Note the Note... now we also know why they NB'd this: :(

My greatest concern is obtaining limp mode on the autobahn. I hate this worry.

2016 GT350 Magnetic w/Black Stripes / Black Roof /Tech Package, ETA 10 March (Bremerhaven, Germany), under MSRP
I guess that depends on if the majority of the heat is coming from the diff working or the gearset.

Edit: My mind went to the rear end cooling for some reason. In that case, I think you'll be fine on the no-limit sections.

It's on the printed insert that has the track alignments on it. It's a rougher presentation than this, but is nearly identical.

Says nothing about aftermarket. Quote, "For sustained high speeds or track day use with Base or Tech model, we recommend that transmission and differential coolers be added. Your vehicle has electronic controls to reduce power and/or limit rpm to reduce powertrain temperatures if required." So what does this mean? Does Ford have the coolers available?

That's by definition "aftermarket"; anything done after the vehicle has been sold or "on the market".

The statement means they're absolving themselves of responsibility for your car going into limp mode. They don't have anything to offer at the moment. :headbonk:

None from Ford... it's way too early, too premature... so don't be surprised if (hopefully first) FRPP comes out with post-sale Trans cooler kits. If not then other aftermarket vendors is the only viable choice.

---------------------------------------------
On a separate but somewhat related topic....

I posted this in another thread (the track insurance thread) but I have a suggestion for Tech/Base owners who may want to track theirs and maybe or maybe not hit limp mode. Since the sessions are 20 mins max, maybe you won't even trigger limp mode (1st car out to checkered flag drop).

Try out SCCA's Track Nights in America - http://www.tracknightinamerica.com/events

They go to many different tracks all over the country and typically each run group session lasts no longer than 20 mins. I have participated in their event before and although it's only 1 hour of total track time, it's still fun and well-managed. Plus it's usually a lot less than the typical $300+ per day hpde.

I quickly picked a random event so here's their schedule for Thunderhill in CA. this coming April 19th for example:

I have run several SCCA track nights at Thompson in CT. Ran my GTI and 07 GT in intermediate and advanced sessions last year. This is a great event and very inexpensive. I will be running my 16-GT350 Tech on April 26th. I will report the results then. It would be nice to get all 20 min. in but from what I have heard I don't think so.

Cool! No pun intended... :D

Try to be one of the last to grid... then start picking out every car one by one (after your warm up laps of course). You'll pass a good number I bet... sometimes it's more fun that way. Be the last man out and one of the first ones in when the checkered flag drops.

Yea that's what I like to do and I'm sure this car is capable of eating up almost anything on track until it goes into LIMP MODE. Oh well it's just for fun anyway. No money for podium finishes.

I think he was saying the Owners Manual Supplement did not mention aftermarket. Yes it is clearly stated in what Bossing include, just another refinement of the after production message to add the coolers for track use.
