Mine was a Nissan Micra 1.3liter. Not this exact one, but the same color. I threw that thing around all the time. Quite popular in the UK when I got it.

My first car was a 47 Plymouth sedan in pretty much the same condition as in this image. Mine was dark green. That was in 1959. I paid $40 for it. A Schwinn or Raleigh bicycle cost more. I only had it for a few months and traded it for a 53 Chevy.

My first car 1979 was 71 Torino 302 dark green sedan. bought it from old lady from church $550 with savings and graduation money. Changed the oil filled up with Amoco and floored it it out on the highway. Buddy behind me said sparks and soot blew out the exhaust ,she ran ran great after that. Bought new Cooper white wall tires, Spark O Matic radio and speakers from Auto Shack. Stupid woman broadsided me in a parking lot and totaled it , insurance paid $750 sold it for $200 . Last seen the poor thing was abandoned with flat tires in parking lot and towed off somewhere. Used the money for down payment on a 74 Nova

I got my first car in December 2004, this 2001 AU Series 3 Fairmont sedan.

The AU series of Falcon's were either loved or hated due to their controversial styling. I'm in the love it camp, appreciating that it had character and how it stood out against a sea of jellybean looking cars from that era. Mine was painted in Barossa Red metallic................or grandpa red as I called it.

At 18 years of age, a burgundy colored Fairmont was a bit of sleeper. Mine had the standard SOHC 4.0 inline 6 with 4-speed auto. The way that engine produced torque combined with a live rear axle, meant it would drop single peg burnouts with ease.................after you turned the traction control off first!

In the 3.5 years I owed it, I added Tickford wheels, a spoiler and MOMO leather steering wheel and gear selector. I also changed the exhaust tip to a Fairlane item. And yes, I washed, polished and waxed the thing every second second.....................some things never change!

I'm lucky as I still have my first car since 1984. 1971 Chevy Chevelle Malibu, not a lot of original parts left on it as over the years its had 4 engines, 3 transmissions, 4 paint jobs, Hotchkis lowering springs Etc. Currently 454 CI, Th400 , 12 bolt 3.42.

Surprisingly other than the usual dodgy French electrics (bulbs constantly going and the horn not working for about a year, eventually being fixed by a barrage of punches before its sale) the car was pretty faultless.

1991 Nissan. Drove it for 14 years. Got it brand new after my first deployment. I think it was around $7500. No A/C, no radio, no cruise, and roll up windows.

My first car was a 1967 Chevy Caprice, 327, 4 door. My Dad bought it for me in 1974 for $400. Six days after getting my license I T boned a guy that ran a stop sign! chevy was not totaled but took $400 to get it back on road. Not my Chevy but same color and vynal top

My first car was kind of a cheat since it was given to me (98 Caravan, what a lady killer that was), but the first car I bought with my own money was a 2006 Taurus SE. Pretty much a poverty spec with cloth seats and no options. I learned how to work on cars, and with a lot of time spent looking around Michigan junk yards, improved the car quite a bit. This car wasn't cool by anyone's standards, but it cemented my love for this platform. I've had 4 Taurii/Sable since, lol.
