Is it just mine? Or are all M1 manual shift knobs off centered? Granted, it makes it easier to read the layout from the driver seat. But you really only need to read it once, so the convenience benefit gets old quickly, replaced by obsessive OCD.

The 5-6 are centered, but they should be on the right side of the print. No?

?? it is off centered as you said to make it more legible from the driver, because that is kind of the location it MATTERS.

Curious, I went out to check mine.

IMO, my car anyway, I think it is an optical illusion/effect.

Resting in 1st, the pattern appeared skewed to the left, and turned counter-clockwise.

Putting the stick in neutral and letting it sit naturally, it seemed fine.

Noticed this too, figured it was just for legibility from drivers position. More worrying is I only have 3k miles and there's already some fade in the pattern. I really like the feel though of the knob though.

I never understood the point of having the gear positions printed on a shift knob anyway. If you are having to look down at the knob to confirm your gear, then you aren't ready to be driving a stick shift in public.

Looks like whoever made the call for the Mach1 white knob also influenced the Dark Horse titanium one.

Yes, the angle of that shot is skewing things a bit. But Raiti is actually pushing the knob to the right in that picture.

For rental cars in Europe where the default is manual gearbox, it is useful to find where the manufacturer hid the R gear on that particular model. Thatā€™s 50% of the clue. Then you need to know if you have to push, pull or force slide to engage the R. Or lift up a decorative ring (crazy Renault designers).
