Recently I have been having a great deal of issues with both key fobs for my 2019 GT. It started out by doing the following.
When I turn the car off I get the message
“Restart now or key is needed” and once I leave the car and come back I try the push start and it says “no key detected”
Now I have switched the batteries on both key fobs from different sources and the problem still happening. Also something else I have to be right up on the car to use the key fob to lock it or remote start or trunk litterley have to have rhe fob next to the door or trunk.
Brand new batteries on both fobs
Energizer batteries
Any one have any idea what’s wrong

does this happen in all places you go or just one particular parking lot? I get this issue every time I visit a certain Publix supermarket by my job. When I turn the car off and close the door touching the handle won’t lock the doors even after multiple taps and using the fob from a few feet away also doesn’t work. And when I come back to the car I have a hard time unlocking the doors and something I can’t even stay the car until I tap the start button like 20 times and even after that the car says there’s no fob . I have a video

I know I say what’s wrong with this car, I don’t know. Well I know it’s that certain area. I think one of the store might have some kind of signal that jams the key fob

Its funny you say that come to think of it It only happens on base where I work. Maybe they put some wifi or radio frequency tower or something t hat interferes with the signal. Ill test it out else where and see if I have issues

Is it a military base.if it is they. Would have secure frequency blockers to keep out hackers etc.theyre usually pretty powerful and may block your fob .trasmission you, might mention to your security group what going on.my guess is they won't talk to you unless you have security clearance

If it’s happening everywhere try disconnecting the battery for a while

When you get the message, put your fob in the spot where the fob goes when the battery fails and it will reset. Look in the owners manual to find out where the override location for the fob is.

It happened once on my my previous explorer, and I made the mistake and shut it off and walked away. When I returned, the door would not unlock, the buttons on the fob would not unlock the door either. I had to use the keypad to get in, and when I got in the car it would not start until I reset it by putting the fob in the reset spot.

Correct, pull up the rubber mat in the cup holder. The key spot is in the back cup holder, it has a "well" for you to put the key fob in.

This discussion helped with my wife's Lincoln, thanks. We were in Chicago and had a problem with the car recognizing the fob. It was only in one spot of the hotel parking lot, so my guess is that as someone said it was a security thing probably.
