On their intake when they bore out the maf sampling tube it goes from around 88mm to 108mm, they do not just dremel out a few small things. Jlt is 110mm if I remember correctly. Not saying one is better then the other at all, just clarifying.
Im not saying ones better then the other either i dont care how damm big the tube is the motors only going to take in so much air na and not digging into the internals of the motor or going fi period. So put a 130 mm tube on their and let me know how that works for u.They dont bore the whole tube out.

I guess you didn't read what I wrote very well. The SAMPLING tube area on the airaid is about 88mm just like stock that is why no calibration is required. When the sampling insert is cut out it opens the full tube up to about 108mm. I was just clarifying what you wrote cause your info about them just dremeling a "few small areas" was completely wrong and I just wanted the correct info to be posted.

I'm not sure of their method of cutting, a dremel could work, then it would need to be sanded smooth. When its cut out and the maf transfer is adjusted correctly for the new size there is a hp gain to be had, I have already verified this.

Ok guys I need help. I just installed the jlt with e85 tune. It added HP for sure and sounds great. Runs fantastic at wot...but...when cruising...it surges and the throttle pulses. My tuner says that it's running 60% lean while cruising and says there is too much air blowing by the MAF sensor while cruising. He says could be the catch can causing it but that doesn't make sense to me. He also said it could be my mmd grille causing it...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

i would think it’s the new grille . As it has different openings for the cold air intake to take in air to go thru.

I used to run the JLT. It's a good intake. If you have an aftermarket grille or one that's free flowing, I would go with a closed box set up. When I changed my grille, I ended up having a lot of MAF turbulence. The car would buck pretty good in cruise control on the highway. I ended up closing in the JLT box, turbulence gone.

So, in yer expert opinion, how much air do you thinK the coyote can pack into it's cylinders ? 70% ? 80% ? More ?

First off, do not drive it if it running 60% lean, you WILL blow your motor eventually. Your tuner needs to retune for the correct maf, if not it will never run right, I am pretty sure that is a 120mm maf and it must be corrected in the tune it has nothing to do with the grill or anything else.

Yah. Get a different tuner. It's the most basic of basic tunes. Open grill won't make it go 60% lean.

It's Rob Shoemaker...he is supposed to be one of the best. He said he put the jlt MAF curve on there and that the problem is on my end.
