Looking to install jacking rails on a GT convertible. Any thoughts on J&M vs Steeda? I know the J&M are heavier, but do they add greater stiffness to the vert? Any installation gotchas?

Why have the extra weight. Get the Steeda jacking rails.

I will unless there's a tradeoff in stiffening the frame. I haven't taken possession of the car yet, but my 85 convertible frame flexed like a wet noodle. If the 2021 does the same I'd like to start making corrections.

6 in one, half dozen in the other. ..the bigger question is, do you really need jacking rails? Why not get a soft puck on your jack and a bracket jacking point that has you lift the car at the same point every time? it's not like the weight distribution of your car ever changes so much that it's going to matter and there are plenty of other places to jack up if necessary.

I can't speak for Steeda since we have never seen them in person, but ours are a true full length at 53 inches. We also cap them with welded end pieces not just push in caps like I've seen on others.

The beuaty of the Steeda rails is that they are shorter and allow room for the rear IRS braces to be installed. Basically Steeda has designed the frame stiffening components as a "system". I can vouch that the frame stiffening components work very well as designed.

The convertible cars already have a rear brace from the factory which is why we have 3 different versions of jacking rails. We have the ultimate full length coupe at 67", coupe with steeda irs brace at 53", & the convertible also at 53" long.

These can be installed without having an alignment, However the rear subframe is advertised for the coupe, Steeda can help with that.
Coupe Rear IRS Subframe Support Braces (2015-2021)
Extreme G-Trac K-Member Brace (2015-2021)

Next oil change I'll slip these on. Look to be powder coated, very nice, quaility welds well done.

I run the Steeda ultra lights. I change wheels often, so it makes this faster to be able to jack the car up from the middle.

Steeda here as well. No issues with install. They work great and having a single point to lift a side is nice.
