You should just trade that POS S550 in for a used S197.
I love my POS S550, and why the hack i go back the old gen? Overall better car, only complains are weight, gas milage and not enough power to compansate the weight gain!

Do you race it for money or something? Because other than the straight line performance the S550 is a better car in every way over the S197.
With couple of my buddies on an old landing strip, but also took it twice to streets of willow last summer. Mostly racing for a dinner or drink lol. I m one of those guys who really hates to loose!

That's what the aftermarket is for! It's all about cubic dollars.

S550 isn't faster than an S197 at a strip, stock for stock. S197 can get down to 12.2-12.4s with a good driver. S550 gets to mid 12s.

Once modding comes into play, the S550 should be faster. It has the Boss and CJ cams, so bolt on to bolt on, the S550 will have better results.
This! And we are talking about stock vs stock!

Take out your seats and drill holes in the rotors. That should help with the massive weight gain.

I ordered way before the numbers came out and been driving the car since last October. I was in the same boat as a lot of people here and decided to give it a shot! As a previous 2012 camaro ss owner i have no regrets! If i was a previous s197 owner then that would be another story.
I'm a previous s197 owner. My 12 was a premium and my 15 is base with only pp. You couldn't force me back into my 12.
I do wish the 15 had more power but don't we all?

I totally understand but we are missing the important point here. Stock vs stock the new car should have exceeded the previous car in every performance aspect. These are performance cars for crying out loud. If you want a luxury grand tourer you can get a Audi A5 or BMW 328i coupe.

I don't want to give the Chevy example but, thats how it should have been done. Doesn't matter a loaded vs base the new six gen will be always faster in a straight line or road coarse.

Ford can or could do this too, but they thought the new car was good enough for their sales. Thats what they really care, and leave some on the table for future sales. Lets be honest here.

Anyways, Ford should have been damn sure the car exceeded the previous gen in every way period. Not? Go back to the drawing board!
^^ Don't feed the trolls.

The keyboard generals are out in force today.

Sure they could have then you would have been but hurt about the price, and the Mustang has always been the better performance bargain and doesn't share the advantages of platform flexing. The front suspension change was an un intended program change which effects many aspects of prorgram funding, and its life cycle. I read through these and other threads and its clear many have any clue how cars are built. The S550 cake was baked long ago.

My point to Saurkraut was the 2 are a drivers race, stock for stock. We have folks running 12.4 here on the forum on a stone stock car.

Bingo! Thanks for posting this in here. Folks assume these changes take 2 months to go thru all the R&D, etc. etc. Or better yet, they think Ford has a magic wand it waves and presto, chango, 475hp and 3600lbs.

Regardless of its added weight, the S550 is faster than the S197 on a road course...That's what they said....

I paid 44 g for my car with extended warranty, money is not a problem. In fact if higher price is going to increase the quality, performance and mpg then i am all for it. People will buy it anyways!
