If I was to do it again, I'd get a non PP with ebay brembo stickers for the front brakes. Could have saved thousands for basically the same freaking thing.
This^^ lol, "But they are Brembos from a different time era; Ford is Brembo and these are from Ford and they're basically Brembos"......let it go already.

I think the "bang for buck" is pretty solid on the PP. The radiator, breaks and wheels make it well worth it for me, personally. But I knew I was going PP from day 1 when I was ordering. If your on the fence about it being worth it for you, then that is probably your answer right there.

Buy it.

Just like the GT vs 6-Cylinder debate, I guarantee you there are way less people who buy the PP and think, "I should have gotten the non-PP" than vice-versa.

Hell I was set on an automatic when I bought mine but if I knew about the differences in the PP I probably would have just put up with the manual transmission to get it.

Instead I have an Auto GT where I already paid $1.5K for new wheels to replace the ugly base model wheels and I am looking at suspension options that already come with the PP model!

there's no way i'd be happy with the base GT handling. More than anything i felt like i was riding a floaty boat compared to the PP. But i am used to small nimble sports cars. The PP put the gt almost there for me. Overall, you can't buy what the PP offers for the same money it costs to tack on the option. I personally wanted a stick and 3.73's with the brakes, so i went with the PP. I think the wheels are fugly boat anchors, but that's just my opinion. Drive both back to back and see which one you like better.

Upgraded brakes never hurt any car, especially when driven in a major urban environment (like Houston, TX) :D Neither did a bigger radiator ;)

What's the real bummer is the Brembo stickers are worth more than the MT-82 transmission and cheesy springs that come on the PP.

I test drove an auto 3.13 GT, a MT 3.31 GT and the GT PP, and the GT PP drove the best out of all of them. If you plan going MT, get the PP no questions asked. I thought the gearing would be a problem, but preferred it much more. All the parts if bought on aftermarket would be at the very least double than the PP, most likely more. I think it is a no brain-er. I will be buying GT PP.

EDIT: One thing I do want to mention though that I don't think I have seen mentioned before in other threads is that the PP's wheels will wear out in 15,000 miles. The 3.73 gears is also less fuel efficient, supposedly. So it will cost you a little more in the long run on top of the package itself.

Not sure if I'd buy the PP again, on paper it doesn't make sense. But, it drives totally different than my wife's auto. But, a good set of shocks would really help the none pp car. It is what it is, I have what I have. I'd rather have an auto for boost, but I love driving a stick. My knee gets tired from driving an 18 wheeler all day, so auto would be better, but I love driving a stick. I hate staggered wheels because you can't rotate, at 5,000 miles my tires are 80% gone in the rear, but fronts look brand new. Way too shifty for daily work with the 3.73 gears, rpm too high for great mpg, but man I love running through the gears at wot. I doubt I'd buy a pp again, and I bet I'd regret it.

That's a good general recommendation. I can't imagine someone who likes to really engage with the car and wanting a manual, not also wanting all the other perks of the PP.

Heck, myself, @DivaDanielle and a couple of other semi-recent buyers bought Performance Package _convertibles_, that a lot of folks would think are more of a laid back cruising kind of car. Nope, I wanted to bang through gears, have that extra level of control when driving a little more "enthusiastically".

I got my car delivered and from day one, no additional shopping, no installs, full warranty on every single part on the car, I have a more capable vehicle for the type of driving/enjoying I wanted.

PP all the way. Without it the car stock feels really floaty and boat like imo. MT82 trans feels great to me. I come from an S2000 which has arguably one of the best shifters ever as well and have no issues with the MT82 at all.
I could never own an auto fun car though. Takes all the fun out of it for me.
I plan to replace many things from PP and still think it's worth it. Just for the gears, upgrading cooling and front brakes make it worth it to me. Bigger splitter, gauges(even if just for looks) strut brace etc all make it worth it.

I already replaced springs and sway bars and wheels will be next since the are crazy heavy!

These PP cars have the BEST OEM brakes ever. Ever.

3.73's (IMO) are the worst part of the package. I will try to swap for 3.15's or as close to that as possible when I finally go whipple.

For NA I love the 3.73's. Hate boring long gears. So much more being able to row through the gears. With boost though I see them hurting performance.

IMO buy it if you want to just leave it how it is and enjoy it or light mod. If your going to mod the shit out of it and change most of those parts anyways Id rather spend the money elsewhere. I chose Cali special for aesthetics and interior instead because I want to do all the suspension etc myself and don't care to have the same wheels everyone else with a mustang has.

Buy what you like and enjoy it. The most important thing is the engine in the '15's and '16's are better than previous offerings so build off of that and go with it.

The MT82 isn't that bad, people just like to make mountains out of mole hills. The gears, the brakes, radiator, torsen lsd.. I mean come on. It's 100% worth the items that come with the package even if you don't like 1 or 2 of the items the package as a whole is worth the upgrade.
