Sorry to see that happen. Looks fixable - it'll buff out.

Airbags deploy?

that’s the usual sign to a totaled vehicle.

matter of fact, if they DONT deploy its hard to get cars totaled 🤪

Looks fixable to me, I always thought that a vehicle is considered totaled once the cost of repair exceeds the cars market value. I don't think you have 20k+ in damage there.

Bodyshops replace airbags all the time.

Airbags going off does not equal an automatic total. That misinformation needs to die hard.

I had a 2015 fixed with not quite as extensive as damage. Ended up being about 10k (Guard Paint, the shop painted extra things to ensure they matched). I'm hoping yours is still fixable, its roughly the same damaged parts as mine.

It's more about the COST of the airbags and the added cost of things they dmg when they go off.

Generally it's somewhere around 75% of the market value, depending on insurance company, etc. While the body damage doesn't look too bad, if the airbags had deployed, they are expensive to replace, and could potentially have pushed the cost of the repair close to, or over the threshold. In the OPs case, the airbags didn't deploy, so he is probably going to be ok with getting it fixed. That is all of course dependent on what the market value of his car is in the area that he is in. Also, there could be some suspension damage, or damage to the wiring harness that may drive the cost up. Let us know how it goes OP.
