I'm getting old and my left knee doesn't like pushing in the clutch pedal anymore. Also, the 10R80 auto is faster on the dragstrip and honestly, I'm more interested in the drag strip than going to a track. If I couldn't find a Mach 1 like I wanted, then my second choice would have been a GT with and auto.

I went from a 2013 GT I bought new and put a number of upgrades over time (Brembos, Ford Performance suspension, and a VMP Stage 1 blower), and eventually migrated to a 2021 Mach 1.

Although the Mach 1 has a nicer interior, better exterior styling, and handles better better than the 2013, I question at times whether it was worth the price for the switch. I enjoy driving the Mach 1, but I wonder at times whether the difference was worth the cost…the 2013 was much faster on the drag strip.

It’s really depends on how you’re going to use it, and whether those differences between the two is worth the cost…only you can decide that.

For me, I could have got a GT with the PP1 to meet my needs, but I priced them out and a loaded GT with magneride and active exhaust was only 3K cheaper than a similar equipped M1 and since I would have to put on an M1 front bumper because I totally despise the 18+ front end. With having to change out the front bumper it would cost me about 3K anyway and at that point I could just have a real Mach 1, so that's what I did. In the end I bought an M1 strictly for the looks, I could have just bought a GT and made it look like an M1 but why if they would cost me the same.

The manual IS the reason. Go drive an 10 for 3 days. You'll want to drive it off a cliff to spare you further torment.

Stop asking, the choir , go test drive one, and decide that way.
All while asking yourself, can you honestly use the higher limits or not.
Then and only then will you know if it is worth it to you.

Thats a 255 tire on a HP wheel... front tire should be 305. But that could be a simple tire change. Sure looks all genuine HP to me.

That tire looks stretched on that wheel, would make sense as the HP front wheel is 10.5" wide and a 255 tire is too small for a wheel that wide.

I pulled the sticker and and it is NOT a factory Handling package car. The original springs and spoiler are in the trunk. Looks like the PO upgraded everything separately. Are those factory HP wheels?

I just drove both a Manual (pictured above), and auto. I was shocked by how much more I liked the Manual. Maybe it was the suspension upgrades, but it felt like high end sports car...a Monster compared to my 2015 GT. The auto felt very blah. In sport mode the shifts where crazy Jerky and harsh. In normal mode it didn't feel like much of an upgrade over my 2015 GT which was very surprising.

So probably going to go with the Manual pictured above. But the tire and wheel changes make me a little nervous.

Thanks for pointing out. Looks like the OP used the standard M1 tires on HP wheels he bought seperate. Do you think that be a safety issue? Seems like those are stretched pretty wide.

I'd swap to the correct sized tires. Not a fan of stretched tires , I'd rather curb the tire than the wheel face if I made a mistake and got too tight to a curb, or a pot hole

Why? 10R80 is fantastic It's a matter of choice, either you want manual or auto, it's as simple as that. At least we got that choice for the first time.

Just observations - its up to you to form an opinion / make a decision on each :

Tyre size has been mentioned, but I think that is also a budget brand so they are likely giving up performance / handling even compared to the non HP Michelin's.

I think the silencers are standard (other M1 owners can comment on the tip design), but for them to sit like that its defo been cut / messed with. I suspect its had a resonator delete which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the fitment is questionable / needs adjustment.

Just a question - Should the rear spoiler be the same colour as the mirrors ? (I'm not totally sure on this).

Just bear the previous owners choices in both component quality and fitment in mind when viewing the rest of the car and its history etc

I do think Machs look good in the red / white / black colour scheme
