Well I got the Updated VMP pump on this Morning. Was able to access everything from just removing the lower air dam/panel. Was very easy actually but did have to modify the wrap bracket they give you. Flow does look stronger watching the Degas tank. Have not driven it yet.

I’m shocked how much flow my original Roush/Bosch standard 4 year old pumps flows. I wouldn’t want it to flow any faster TBH. This is at 12.5V engine off as well. There’s a point where too much flow doesn’t improve the heat exchange process at all. You actually would need to expand the capacity of the system far before benefiting from a higher GPM pump.

The short "VMP" one looks like the same as 2018+ Roush pump. Probably the same Bosch unit.

Yep, same one I got also. My issue ended up being a bad relay and not the pump.

That's cool that the 18+ already has the upgraded pump.
It did seem to help.
One thing for sure is that I have to fill the Degas tank almost to the top, otherwise, it seems to be able to suck air into the system.

I have seen on older mustangs people talking about jumping the relay to force the intercooler pump to start.. can't find any info on the newer setups... does anyone have any suggestions on how to start the pump manually by bypassing the relay??

Old thread.

But just installed a Roush blower.
Stock Roush pump is fine but was wanting some insight on your new pump install just incase it fails.

Since the Roush is mounted on the passenger side and the new VMP is mounted on the drivers side. Did you have to re route your lines or add lines?

Thanks
