Before I bought my EB convertible, I asked my insurance agent for a quote...she said "wow, I didn't realize that a Mustang would come in that cheap!" When I asked about a GT instead...she said "what a different a V8 makes!"
Wierd. Going from my V6 to the V8 was $8 more a month.

I pay $322/6-mo with 100/300/100 $500 deductible. Includes loan payoff, and first year new car replacement, plus rental car, towing, etc.

I win! :D
Naw, I got ya...... $550 full year. I have coverage up the ass. If someone farts on the car I am covered, rental, towing, everything I could get and a $200 deductible and $0 on glass. But I am in Canada in a suburban area, Only gonna drive as a weekender from April-October and then parked. I was also told I would get a rebate cuz no collision or liability while parked. So probably gonna cost me $350-$400 a year. :clap2:

Like others have said, shop around. I switched to Geico insurance to get the lowest rate. I'm 59, married, no points and I'm just under $1K year with $500 collision, and $250 comp. deductibles. I lowered my liability coverage some this year since I don't own a home. The 100/300 was overkill since I don't own anything.
Liability is for hitting other people, not you.

when the first VIN showed up at the plant I priced a $45k GT with my agent. With a 19 year old male on my policy and coverages of 100/300, UM, and collision with $500 deductible is was $2200/yr with Farmers, so that's crazy

Added my 2015 GT to existing Progressive policy with similar coverage, 37 year old with a clean record and only added $900 a year.... I think you need to shop around.

I'm a national agent at Liberty Mutual so I write business in 47 states. Definitely which state and zip play a pretty big role in what you pay. I'd definitely shop it though and bundle it with your home to save more. Texas rates are typically pretty reasonable with good credit and no violations or claims.

I wouldn't pay that much attention to what other people pay in other states. It doesn't matter since it doesn't apply to you. These guys in the Midwest with their $400 rates also have to live in Iowa or NE to get those rates. Also you can probably buy a house for $60k but again you have to live in IA or NE to do that. It's all relative to where you are.

Jesus Christ!!! I am married and over 40 years old, NO lapse in coverage, no tickets or accidents for over 8 years and so on. Just got a quote for over $6500 a year with 300/100/300 and uninsured driver also. With a Corvette and Nissan truck I was paying $2200 a year. They told me that the Mustang GT is the reason it is so high!! :frusty:
Your insurance company is messed up for some reason ... there is no reason the Mustang GT should be that high if you are paying $2200 a year for a Vette and Nissan truck.

My GT was only $14/month more than my old 2002 Z06 - same level of full coverage on both. The Mustang GT costs me $750/year for good full coverage, 2nd vehicle, pleasure car rated - State Farm.

I understand this. If I hit someone and they sue past limits of insurance, I could loose my house if I had one. Since I don't have one any more, I don't own anything for them to come after. That was my point. I still carry 50/100/50 coverage and not just the state minimum of 15/30/5.

I have a GT Premium 5.0 on order and this just prompted me to call my insurance agent and get a quote.
I’m married, house, 35, maxed liability, $500 deductible, in NH, no tickets etc.
$700 a year.

I just switched my Roush over from Liberty Mutual to Grundy Insurance. I only pay $435 a year. Of course, car cannot be used as transportation. Must have a daily driver and must be garaged at all times. No problem for me. I only take my Roush out when it is super nice out and sunny. And insurance payment must be paid upfront. No problem there. The Roush is my fun car.
Liberty Mutual was supposed to call me back with a better quote for the Roush, they did not. So, I said to myself, you're done. I'm not going to chase them for their business. So long sailor. Called up Grundy and I'm all set. I'm saving 800 bucks a year too! My new truck is still under Liberty Mutual though. I've been with them for years and years, you would think they would workout a better price for me. :headbonk::headbonk:
