Would anybody be willing to supply a rough measurement from the start of the threads to the back of the jam nuts on the tie rods, along with your current toe setting if you know it?

I'm chasing a measurement issue and ended up taking the tie rod ends off just to make sure the inner threaded joints weren't coming loose. I just need a rough baseline to restart with.

I've been using toe plates up to this point and I'm thinking I may end up aligning it with strings.

Bonus points if you have access to a manual and it gives a starting point.

In case there are differences between years, my car is a 2017.

If you have the means to do strings then I would do one very meticulous session with that. I did and I have been able to get by with just toe plates and digital angle gauge. Check out my methods in the DIY forum.

I decided to lube the threads of my tie rod ends for easier adjustment. I counted the turns until it fell off and that worked great when I put it back on. I realize that doesn't help you now.

Ordinarily I would do the same thing, but yesterday was just a cascade of errors (all of which I knew better) that led to a complete loss of any sort of baseline to go by.

I set them both to 1" thread engagement, which was still way too much but it did give a consistent starting point. I ended up setting toe to a hair under 1/16" in with plates. I will string the car, but it won't happen any time soon.
