Congratulations on the new ride. Now you have time to find out what "all those other modifications" are. You will love the car.

Congrats on the new car. I’d recommend taking it slow now that you got it and really getting to know the car before any crazy driving it’s a lot of power to hListen for any issues that might need resolving etc. The only thing that would personally concern me going into the future would be the transmission since I’ve heard the manuals don’t handle the added power that well, although a lot of people don’t have issues with them, and possibly the whipple tune which I’ve also heard some stories about. Oh and be careful if you ever get caught in the rain being it’s a daily. Hopefully we can help you identify any mods going forward. With the supercharger I assume there would be some suspension mods, braces, maybe half shafts and other parts to help put the power down.

Nice of you to keep us in the loop. Lots of people just disappear once they get an answer.

I definitely appreciate the replies and suggestions, all having merit.

While this is and has been a goal of mine, I'm going to proceed forward. However, will be making calls and scouting out local shops to perform an inspection of the car. The peace of mind will be well worth the cash, but I understand that it is just peace of mind and not a guarantee.

Will see what tomorrow brings. Thanks again gents.
Ha ha, I figured you already had your mind made up to purchase this car no matter what anyone said. At least you're going to have someone check it out first. Good luck to you.

Congrats on the purchase and first rule of thumb on here with a new S550 purchase:

Car has aftermarket blower. Do you have the money on hand to replace the engine?
If yes...you're good.
If No, you bought the wrong car.

That's how I would approach it.

The vast majority of responses and replies here have been very supportive, which speaks a lot about the culture of this forum. Naturally, there will be things that I and we don't agree soon, and we should each take that with a grain is salt.

However, very encouraged to be here. Still brand new here and as I figure out the etiquette, I'll try to avoid making myself a target and contributing as I can.

If you have an Ngauge, chances are it's NOT a whipple tune. Whipple doesn't use an Ngauge for tuning. I hope you are running 93 octane in the car.

Nice color shows off the pre facelift hood lines up to the windscreen, nice fitment of tire and rim.

Car looks great and I bet it runs strong. Makes you wonder why someone would get rid of it, but we all know things happen in life and especially in the last year or so.

I am pretty sure 91 is the highest octane out there, but the altitude tends to make up for the lack of 93 octane.

Your statement is very true. You are doing great with etiquette, though you will find out some of the old-timers don't do so well with it themselves. :) Keep a thick skin and remember the chances are, not a single person on here knows you personally.

I'd be concerned not knowing what tune is in the car. Unless the Ngauge is just being used to monitor PID'S.

That is a valid concern, and I would be a person that would want to know also. I'm sure there might be someone on here that may be able to tell him how to go about determining who the tune is from....of course that may mean going to a tuner to find out.

That’s a good start! Can you tell us a lot more about the mods. Does it have headers, mid pipe, which cat back exhaust, suspension work, etc.?

I do have an idea on how you may be able to get in contact with the previous owners. Contact the General Manager of the original dealership that sold the car (if you have that information on a window sticker or other paperwork) and explain to him/her that you are trying to get in contact with the previous owners to learn more information about the car and then ask them if they would call the previous owners and ask them to call you to discuss some information pertaining to the car.

I had the dealership contact me after they sold one of my old Mustangs to a new buyer. I told them that it was fine to have the new owner contact me and he did. As luck would have it, the new owner lived less than a mile away from me. I used to see my old car a lot until I moved out of the area.
