While looking around on the fordparts.com website, i decided to do some looking around as to how much the entire engine assembly would be.

A full engine assembly (minus turbo, I'm assuming) is about $3500

The short block is about $1500

The bare block is around $700

The turbo itself is about $1100.

Just in case some of you are feeling bad about breaking something, it really isn't that bad (i thought a full assembly would be close to $5k given the tech this engine employs) Kinda makes me feel better about breaking something down the line.

Kinda.

Wasn't worried a bit. Bone stock here. 5 years 60k mile powertrain warranty in tact. Modding not only costs upfront but you're forfeiting a 60k mile warranty.

Nice. ...guessing the dealerships need these to be in stock or can they get a shipment? I noticed it said the bare block is an unshippable item :/

Those prices aren't bad, but I can only imagine what the dealer would charge to replace it all in labor.

I understand and you've made yourself very clear in your past posts about not modding. I only shared this information with the others who have larger plans for their cars past bolt ons (i would like to mod too but nothing past bolt ons right now) if they break something how much they could be looking at for the parts themselves.

That's awesome. Maybe don't bother looking in the "EcoBoost Engine Mods" section then.....

Haha thank you. Been my screen name for the past 10 years on many forums i used to post on. Also my instagram name haha. I still have my first Tama drum set i got when i was 12 (I'm gonna be 27 in a month) and i always kept telling myself ill upgrade to one of the pro setups, but i never did. Haven't played in years but i wanna get back into it.

Anyway, back to your regular scheduled programming.

Thanks for sharing! I love modding and will be building my engine, don't give two fiddles about a warranty.

Also wanted to add, for those who want a built block, you can get the bare block from Ford for cheap, the forged assembly from a tuning shop, and then build it on the side instead of building the one currently in your car to minimize downtime.

That is cheap to me compared to V8's. Hell I spent more than that entire short block and head on one set of ported heads for my Z28
