Bought my first Mustang when I was 38 and when I was 40 I had thoughts of someone thinking I'm middle aged crazy but I've had a Mustang every year since--I'm 52 now and just crazy about Mustangs

I'm waiting for my second mustang. My first I got new in 1965, a rangoon red hardtop with a 2 barrel 289 engine with a three speed, radio and spinner hubcaps. I was 17. Now 50 years later I am getting a 2016 Ruby Red Ecoboost convertible.
Sounds very similar to my first mustang, mine was "Poppy" red with a factory 4 barrel 289, but single exhaust. Got it when I was 15. Added Headers, dual exhaust, and an upsized Holley carb. That was in the late 80's and it could keep up with sporty cars of the day after the mods. Loved that thing and it made me a lifelong mustang fan.

Congrats to the OP! Never too late and never too soon!

Nice ride! Post some interior pics, I'm curious.

Don't run it out of warranty the first couple of weeks! The 75 mile ride home might be a hint of things to come.

Congrats on the new ride. One of the only positive things I can think of about being almost 50 is We're in a little better financial position at this stage of the game and the payment wont break us.
And the "goodie" list can be longer and more expensive! :D

That is all...

I am 62 and my Ecoboost Mustang is my first. The Ecoboost is the first Pony car that had the right combination of looks, performance and economy to be considered for daily driver duty. All my other daily drives going back to the mid 80's have been turbo compacts.

I am a life long Mopar fan and still have three including a 68 Barrcuda. If I had been shopping for a weekend car a Challenger SRT8 would have gotten the nod over a Mustang GT.

I am 58, this is my 3rd Mustang. I had a 1986 SVO ( great idea for a turbo car in the 1980's, bad execution and quality) and a 2000 GT with a stick ( crappy interior).
My 2015 GT PP is a totally awesome car in every respect. It is my DD. My other cars are a 2007 Aston Martin Vantage V8 stick. And a 1965 Jaguar E-Type coupe show car.

I finally got a Mustang! I spent a lot more than I intended to, but the GT's around here were disappearing fast, and I had to make my move for a Shaker and a 3.55 axle. The black + red seats set the hook, and after the usual several hours of paperwork, The Shark and I were on our way home, and for some reason it was a 75 mile drive back, instead of the usual 15 miles. Hmmm. Well, it's nice to meet you folks!

Thanks,
Paul
She's looking great man! Congratulations!

The feeling of pulling a new car like that in the driveway for the first time never gets old.

Any plans for her? I know she won't stay stock for long

My first Mustang was a 1972 'Sprint' model that I bought in 1975 - then 39 years later (age 61) I buy a 2015 5.0 PP Competition Orange one. In between owned quite a few vehicles to include a couple Camaro's the latest one being a 2012; however I haven't enjoyed anything like this one.

Well, it looks like there are some EXPERIENCED drivers here. Folks that remember points, carburetors and pushrods. Before flaming... I can honestly remember when Eisenhower was President. But I'm a still a "Toys 'R' Us Kid". In a sense, never grew up. The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.

Good luck to all! And I certainly hope "OK to Buy" is issued by Ford on August 31st for retail orders.

radar_ridr... still waiting on pics of that interior. :)

That is all...

Reminds me of the first one I test drove..I'm in the ballpark at 48 1/2 yrs old..My first 5.0 I owned was a 90 model in 1989, black w/red interior..Never thought about the brand again till 2005, though I always regretted not getting the 1993 cobra. So I've had the mustang on my mind for the last ten years and finally pulled the trigger on the black gt pp a few months ago. It's like an addiction:cheers:
