IAT2 Temps

Are the IAT2 temps on my Nguage correct?
Whipple tune so no special harness..
and if they are correct why does Lund
require the harness to tune? Or to read IATs?

The whipple IAT reads preblower, so any IAT 2 will not be accurate unless you relocate the sensor. I just began working with PB dyno and had to use the VMP IAT kit to relocate the sensor to post blower.

Not sure about Ngauge, but you can read whipple IAT2 with the Android Torque Pro app and an OBD2 adapter.

The Whipple tune uses a special Ford tune strategy that is also used on Roush and FRPP supercharger kits to read IAT2 from a separate harness. Tuners typically don't have access to this unless using HPTuners, and even with that, a lot of things are still locked out or don't work right in HPTuners. That is why they want the relocation kit, so they can modify a stock tune using the normal IAT to create a custom tune.

The IAT2 temp on the ngauge is inaccurate at best. It will give you an idea of what the temp is but that’s about it.

I've tested this and with the Whipple cal even though it's got a dedicated IAT2 sensor it's not meant to be read out on an NGauge or any other OBD2 scanning device. You can however select the PID for IAT2 on the Ngauge, not sure how it gets it's data but it's 10 to 15 degrees off from my other dedicated sensors. Actually at 80 F it's the same but as temps rise it always trends the same and lags behind the true data from my ZT2 sensor.
