I dunno, to me, that's the definition of being a pain. Of course it's not hard, but a tool-less method to drain, imo, is best. Unscrewing 4 screws... whatever, but then having to use a turkey baster or syringe. No thanks.
You can't drain your engine oil without a tool. I can't change my brakes or wheels without a tool.

Tool-less may be important for a catch can with a <1oz capacity, which needs to be drained every month. That's not the FRPP part tho. Its got, what, a 4+oz capacity?

You make a decent point  but I still prefer the approach that every other catch can uses for draining.

I have yet to see bobs be better than upr or elite. Equal, sure.
Find someone that has switched to a Bobs and you'll see. A few buddies in my local club switched from the JLT/UPR to bobs and noticed a big difference. This was on S197s, a coupe years back. Bobs hasn't changed, UPR could have but JLT is decent. I love UPR (I own the Paxton UPR CC), but bobs oil separator is the best imo.

I have seen zero residue in my line after my own personal UPR. Cant see how it gets better than that. Maybe they did change. I couldnt tell you. They were fine on my 14 gt500 too.

I appreciate the theory, but I'm seeing pretty significant catching of oil in mine. I have zero residue on my suction line (inlet to catch can). So next to no oil vapor is bypassing the catch can.

I would hardly call JLT's junk. Bob's is great stuff. I've used it before. But the 3.0 revision made significant improvements to the design.

Hello from a future owner from the UK

Apologies for a silly query but:

I didn't think (from CJPony parts: http://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-rac...iver-side-gt350-gt350r-2015-2017/p/M6766A50S/) that the Driver side Ford Performance Separator was "compatible" with the Coyote 5.0 - its listed for the 5.2 for the GT350/R.

Or is it a case of whilst it's not compatible, it still fits?

Thanks
It fits fine...never collected a drop of oil...so it is at least unnecessary on the LH side on the coyote

I guess I shouldn't call it that. Bobs/UPR are my pick over all other brands.

Someone had posted he connected a syringe with a clear hose from an aquarium. Just disconnect the input side, stick the hose in, and suck the oil right out with the syringe.

Been very happy with my Bob's separator. Has a very nice hard mount on the body and an easy valve to drain by. It also collects a lot of oil.

I've thought about taking mine off as well because it's not as easy to empty compared to the Bob's or the UPR. I do like the factory look though. The last time I emptied it I did find some evidence of oil in the exit line going to the intake.

I like the UPR as well but I've had some problems with the O-ring that joins the two sections stretching out after unscrewing the bottom and then won't fit. In my opinion, this O-ring is too thin.

I do like Bob's cans as well and may go back to it.
