sounds like OP could get what he wants with an engine tune, and a tire upgrade. Now whether he should be doing that is a whole other question.

OP, if you do do this, be sure to run a dash cam and generate video, post to youtube, and then link here, and we will click "Like"

Pretty stupid limiting a sports car with 300hp+ to only 125mph just because the factory tires are not rated higher than that due to legal issues.
A guy I work with has Audi's flagship A8L and it is limited to 132 mph.

The P-Zero's on my Ecoboost PP have a speed rating of 186 mph.

I am actually thinking of a GT350 if I can get good money for mine and for sure will save videos the next time. I actually do have a dash cam but I dropped 2 days before my trip and is not working properly; I guess I need a better quality one and NOT drop it !!!:headbang:

I don't know much about the turbo engines. At 125mph, is it running any boost? What's the RPM at that speed?

I don't actually know the specs of the Pirelli's. I tried looking for that data and got varying numbers from 130 to around 150. But generally speaking, if you have any sort of mishap at that speed, it won't be pretty.

Any other drivers out on the Toll running well over 100 ?
I don't drive like that every day or even often but on this toll road, there is a lot of nice and exotic cars flying. I saw a Vette going an easy 160 with a McLaren right behind and passing the vette and in a matter of 1 min I couldnt see them. The road is not busy...but lots of guys flying by...thats why I am mad to be stuck at 125. I am seriously thinking in selling and may get a GT350. lets see.

The ADM is ridiculous on the 350 you might as well buy a Corvette.

wow

toll road is the new wild west.

on this thread, someone in Frankfurt Germany posted video, of what appears a 175mph run. Hard to tell much because its night time

The V6/Ecoboost limiter issue. Once again.

... And the fastest I've gotten before someone got in my way is 282 kph(175 mph)
0 issues.

A crash at that speed would be unbelievable :eyebulge:

does make me wonder though, if the speed rating of a tire varies by temperature. For example, if the summer sun is cooking the pavement in August, tires will run hotter, and I assume prone to failure at much lower speeds than their theoretical top speed rating.

The speed rating is based on the temperature rise in the tire that happens as a function of the internal friction caused by the speed it is rotating at. I doubt that pavement temperature or outside ambient has much influence.

You been to Texas in August? You can cook an egg on the pavement

way back yonder, people would run their top heavy / narrow SUV (yes you Ford Explorer) at 90 mph on the Texas freeways cooking in the blazing hot Texas sun, then pop a tire and roll their vehicle and hurt themselves or worse. And of course their grieving families would $$$ue

Defective tires!

"The horror! The horror!" :eyebulge:

:headbonk:

Granted, many vehicles back in those days were not known for their IIHS roof strength ratings, but at 90 mph I doubt that would help.
