i need some tips from you all on how i can avoid drone with an aftermarket exhaust or at least make it as bearable as possible. when i get my M1 i plan to install a double H pipe and maybe later add the Magnaflow Competition Axle-Back and i'm worried that it'll make so much drone it's undrivable. will it make too much drone or am i worried about nothing?

First thing, removing your M1 OEM axle back in place of an Magnaflow is a step down. The OEM M1 axle back is as good as it gets unless you need 3” OD for a supercharged application.
Your best option is replacing the mid resonator with any high quality H-Pipe.
The OEM mufflers is where the drone frequencies are canceled out.

thank you very much. would never go with MBRP, way too loud for me

Drone comes from the muffler design/solution itself. Selecting an exhaust designed not drone is key. However, the MF Comp version is one of the highest droning options out really only behind Flowmasters or all out muffler delete.

does this mean that a deeper tone will make more drone? that's why i was looking at the MF Comp, i really like the sound it makes and the fact it's not ear-splitting or raspy

Deeper does lend to drone. Anything that can be described as bassy or booming is a good indicator that it will drone. That said there are some that manage to be a bit deeper than others but are designed not to drone.

Yes magnaflow is terrible for drone. After getting way too deep into exhaust design, on paper the corsa touring appears to be a low-drone design. The muffler design appears to attack low frequencies the most, which is what causes drone. I just finished building probably my 3rd iteration of Helmholtz resonators to run with my magnaflow to get rid of drone….

If I could do it over I would probably either go with a stock gt500 cat back or a stainlessbros resonator and corsa sport.

Not to be contrary, I have no drone with my flowmasters, none to really talk about. I did have drone with test pipes stock res, with catted headers essentially zero. It would drone with a res delete, without any doubt. On my 2v same setup, but off road completely, and have no drone with LTH, but did with manifolds, but that car is just loud and harsh all over lol

It is my opinion, ideal is leaving the factory mufflers, delete the res, leave the cat's alone.

J Pipes help to combat drone. Some exhaust systems like solo performance come with j pipes.

What about running the GT 500 X pipe with resonators in place of the big suitcase resonator the Mach 1 has. I plan to pair this with my 2018 active mufflers.

according to Lakeland Ford's site, it's nearly $1,500 and only comes as a full cat-back, i would rather get the double H pipe for a third of that (plus the chance that in-transit it gets damaged/bent)
also i'm not really a fan of how X pipes sound, too raspy for me
