That's just it, HE didn't say "EB" or the like. The main point is he keeps referring to the car as "This ecoboost thing." Two posts here and in both he said the same thing.

If you don't understand where I am coming from, well than never mind, you are thick as a brick.

Sorry, back on topic, please. Good info in this thread.
You are right, I don't get where you are coming from or why you think 'this ecobeast thing' is some sort of slight or why you would make that post in the first place (given you are keen to stay on topic).

He was relating his tune experiences with his Hyundai, he was not stating it was better than the EB (and who cares even if he was) or putting the EB down.

He owns an EB; who cares what he calls it.

You are totally right! Let's just relax, comb our mullets, enjoy our rustangs and get back on topic, shall we. As a side note, boy do I miss my Z06, got 30mpg highway and would destroy these Eurotrash-wannabe 4-cyl rustangs. Hopefully a tune can change all that! :ford:

Mature...
Sorry, just testing foghats theory that as long as you own a mustang you can call it whatever you want.

If I just got a tune and left the stock intake and exhaust, are there any negative impacts. I'm wondering if the tune Needs the CAI/exhaust to operate correctly? Also I wonder how much less will it perform w/out the CAI/exhaust? Ie. 90% of full potential if not installing CAI/exhaust.

This is the bolt-on, exhaust and tuning section of the board. If you are worried about modifying your car, go hang out in the general section and talk about other things.

Mike
This is a thread asking a specific question about tunes. I have had negative consequences with a tune and therefore have relative input.
if this were the "Positive comments about tunes, bolt on etc Only" section, then I would stay in general discussions.

Damn!! Ford racing now has a sub $600 tune that doesn't void warranty :(. Maybe I should have waited on the COBB tune

It's not out yet and it doesn't retain the factory warranty. It comes with a Ford Racing warranty and must be installed by a dealer and it won't provide the same level of performance as the Cobb, Livernois, etc tunes.

I'm not suggesting that it's bad, but I have a feeling a lot of people will end up disappointed if they go with it.

The Ford Press release (not Ford racing) says it will retain FACTORY limited warranty. The reason for a press relese is because this is not the same program as before.

I think it's pretty clear. The link to the Ford Press release is in my other thread.

While these settings should be modified only within recommended limits, the resulting performance gains with Ford-tested programs can be impressive. Focus ST owners, for example, can expect up to a 90 lb.-ft. increase in torque – all while maintaining the Ford-backed limited warranty.

Ford Racing is developing custom engine calibrations for the all-new Mustang 2.3-liter EcoBoost, with a product expected on the market by the end of 2015.

Not all enthusiasts are concerned about maintaining their factory warranty, and for those Ford has committed to working with aftermarket tuning companies to enable the development of high-quality parts and accessories to maximize the performance of Ford vehicles.

You keep saying this and ignore the facts presented on Ford's own website. This is not an FRPP/Ford Racing warranty. Check the quote, go read the press release.

It may not be for everyone, but for someone like me that wants to keep the warranty, then it works out perfectly.
