Been trying this in my new 2019 GT350, but I can't seem to get it to work. I've read all the manuals, seen all the videos, but it keeps going back to "see owners manual" screen. I keep my foot pressed on the brake continously when it says to do so, but I never hear it lock. Do you have to be in some other drive mode, or is normal ok? Do I have to turn off traction control first? Does the engine have to be at a certain temp? I'm above 180°.
After holding my foot on brake for several seconds after bar reaches top, and foot still on brake, do I hit "ok" then? Or should I hear the brakes lock first, before hitting ok? I hold the brakes for awhile after they initialize, but I never hear the lock. Do I really have to jam down hard on the brakes also?

I haven't had the urge to spend money on a burnout as of yet in my 350, but every stick i've ever owned, you just pop the clutch and hit the brakes. Not even sure what the line lock does that is different?

Line lock holds the front brakes in place, so you don't have to quickly move your foot off the clutch onto the brakes. Thereby saving the rear brakes from excess wear.
And I agree about spending money doing a burnout on the PS2's, and losing probably a few hundred miles of tread. They are not the longest lasting tires to begin with. But it's nice to know I can.

I mean, why would Ford ever include something like this?

I thought it disconnects the rear brakes entirely?

It doesn't "disconnect" them, but it uses the ABS to hold pressure on the front calipers. You actually do the burnout without your foot on the brake at all allowing the ABS system to hold the car still with just the front calipers. This is why you have to hold the brakes down firmly to get them to hold and take set.

Sorry, I was thinking more in lines of irresponsible teenagers. Man, I'm getting old.

The line lock feature is perfect when you need to shed those last few tenths of an inch before your new tires arrive. It makes the old ones lighter and easier to lift off the car.
