I hate to say it, but the Ford 5 year warranty is for perforation of sheet metal caused by corrosion. perforation is defined in the dictionaries as 'a hole'. Blistering paint is not a hole in sheet metal.

That means legally Ford and the dealers can refuse to address this, most likely after the 3/36 warranty expires.
Bingo. I am having this issue right now on my 2013 Fusion. Car has 35K miles and I was told it's not a hole and would not be covered under warranty.

I am having what looks like hood corrosion as well after just 13500 miles.

Does anyone know what Ford does for this and will it be covered under warranty?

I have bumper to bumper still on the car.

Yep. Under 36k and 3 years and you're good. I had it done at 2.5 years and 30k miles

What ended up happening with your claim?
I just actually heard back today... I went in to check with the service manager Tuesday (He had already taken pictures and I had not heard anything). Ford is sending a new hood, and the dealership is painting it (they have their own bodyshop). :headbang:

I also was a little worried because the service manager didn't take pictures under the lip where the seal is .I hadn't looked myself, and that's where the damage really shows. The director of the service department happen to be there, and I showed him the pictures.. he told me to email them to me, and the next day they called telling me ford approved it.

If they mention to you the whole "no holes" deal (which the service adviser told me at first) Tell them to take pictures and send it to ford, just to see what they respond with... it doesn't hurt.
(Car has 35k miles, so within bumper to bumper)
Here's underneath the hood

My fix was a hail storm, and therefore a new hood. Hopefully it was prepped right, I know the paint has to be a smidge thicker than the OEM paint job.

So I take it FordService dropped off the face of the earth on this site??? I took my 15 in for hood corrosion and was told that it was not covered under warranty. My hood's corrosion has just popped through the paint on the top edge of the hood so there is no stopping it now... I either have to replace the hood or get it repainted... Neither of which I want to do at this point in time (was interested in a trufiber hood but I am having reservations now about it since I just don't want to spend $900 (including shipping) on a hood)

Correct... My car has almost 100k miles now. So that coupled with the fact that the 5 year corrosion warranty doesn't apply and they refused the repair. Now that I have seen someone get a repair after going to Ford corporate it gets me wondering if I could do the same.

Called Ford today about my corrosion issue.... They also refused repair of my vehicle. They would not move off of the fact that my issue is not covered under the 5 year warranty (that doesn't include aluminum panels in the first place) and kept siting my high milage as an issue. Corrosion is not milage dependent....

I'll attempt to attach pictures of my issue soon.

It’s only covered in the 36/3 bumper to bumper

I understand that is what the warranty states but it is a bit crazy to say that corrosion is milage dependent.... And the fact that others have had hoods replaced after 36k gives merit to my argument. On top of all of this, a document that was posted in this thread states that Ford is covering corrosion issues on 2016 and up regardless of milage. Why are the 15s excluded from this?
