paint flaking in channel around rear windshield, and the leading edge of the hood is showing signs of corrosion.
Do I have any recourse with ford here? This car has 30k on the clock.

Mine is doing that around the rear glass too. My answer would be no, you're out of warranty for that by age, this isn't something that wears out with mileage...

I still have to try to get them to take some responsibility for these issues. I have a 1999 Honda with mostly original paint, and it looks new.

I went through this with my 06GT two years after I bought it new.....leading edge on aluminum hood started showing corrosion. There was a TSB from Ford about this in 2005. Ford repainted my hood twice under warranty and I paid out of pocket just before I got rid of it in 2019. I thought they fixed this issue long ago. Good luck. Hopefully you can still get it done under warranty.

You would think, right? Nope. But at least It’s covered.

Unfortunately the "fix" Ford proposed did not work.....at least in my case. It lasted a year or two and began to corrode again. The last time, I paid out of pocket, I could not find a body shop to do the work. No one wanted to touch it...even shops that advertised aluminum colision repair was their specialty! Finally I took it to the shop that is painting our 68.....they also could not guarantee it but for the cost, they did a nice job. 06GT was traded in to make way for the 21 so not sure how long that last repair will last.

Check this thread regarding the rear window channel seam cracking and paint delaminating issue. Some M6G members are having severe cracking at the rear window channels, not many at the front. This one is the most complete with M6G owners experiencing severe cracking at the rear window channels:

The factory Paint and Corrosion Warranty is 5yr/60k (whichever comes first). If you're beyond those parameters, Ford isn't going to do anything.
