we might not run wiring into the doors. We might just run it up to the factory amplifier plug so we can return it back to factory if needed. Getting wires through the doors of newer vehicles can be such a pain for virtually no benefit. I know that I will get bashed by the purist on here for saying that, but we are big about trying not to alter the vehicles in our install bays.Trust me, if it is an easy run and we saw big benefits from it then we will do it. I am already cringing on having to front load the tweeters in the A pillars. I will buy another set of pillars to do it so I keep the factory ones with all my other factory parts.

sorry for the fuzzy pic. Here is a shot of him doing a little more test fitting. Thhe rest of the actual enclosure will be built out of Baltic Birch. Baltic Birch is much more denser than MDF.

The JL and the Audison don't do the same thing. The JL FIX takes the signal from the factory amp and gets rid of the factory equalization and time alignment that the factory system has built in. It give me a completely flat unaltered response to go into the Bit One with.

The Bit One flattens factory signal from high-level inputs. (As does the RF360.3, since we're talking processors.) Both do not remove time alignment, which isn't an absolute necessity as you can just work around that factoring in existing time alignment, but nice to have. The Audison Bit Tune will take care of time alignment, though (with the Bit One, not the RF 360.3, of course). If you are giving the Bit One low-level signal, well... it won't flatten that as it's built under the assumption low-level signal will be flat. Kind of stupid, IMO.

Great looking box. I'm so glad you aren't just making a square box then putting a stupid beauty panel on that. That never looks good after a few months of real life, especially when cheapo shops use 1/4" MDF board for that task, which just breaks.

I know a base audio system doesn't have a mid range in the door panels, but can one still be installed? Hoping that the hole for it might still be there.

The door panels are different between the two audio packages. I haven't removed the doors yet, but from what I remember from when we tinted the windows, the mid attaches to the door panel. There isn't an actual hold in the sheet metal.

I love my Milles with my MS8. I'm not in love with the HDP4's though. I have 2 in my Mustang and 1 in my Crown Vic, and both have odd issues I have never had with any amps before. Not big enough issues to replace them, but big enough to where I may not buy another.

I'm curious as to what issues you have had. We sell quite a few of these amps with no issues is why I ask.

All 3 of them have noise when there is no input signal.

The one in my Crown Vic also turns off on warmer days at moderate volume. It never gets hot (barely warm) and the voltage is fine. I only noticed the noise on this amp when I did the install in the Mustang and heard it. I wanted to see if it was an amp or install issue. The speakers in the Vic are in the stock location, so the hissing was pointed at my legs.

The hissing in the Mustang is only noticeable when there is no music playing. Even the slightest hint of music and it is gone. For shits n gigs I hooked up another amp in the Mustang to just 2 speakers, and no hissing.

Again, not enough of an issue to replace the amps but I will certainly look at other options when I need another amp.

They still sound great though, which is why I bought 2 more for the Mustang.

I'd go Arc Audio XD next time. Similar footprint, better IMHO.

The Hertz amps are much the same components (PCB, especially) as far cheaper Soundstream, PPI, etc. amps. It has unique components, of course, but... for a shared platform it's quite expensive. My shop doesn't recommend them often and we generally have someone put in JL amps instead if they're wanting to spend money.
