I'm thinking about the audio build in this car and I'm thinking about killing the rear deck speakers in favor of the mids in the doors. So have 4 channels, in the doors. pair of components 6-1/2 and tweeter and a set of 3-1/2 mids in the doors run off a 4 channel amp, maybe a 5 channel with a sub or a sub on another mono amp. I've built some systems but I've never done a front only sound stage. I'm more SQ focused in general and I think that's what the cool kids are doing these days. can anyone comment on front only vs front and rear?
I'm probably going to end up with a JL VXI series amp, either 4 channel and a second mono amp (not VXI, just a basic amp). Or a 5 channel VXI like the VX700/5i (I dont think 300w RMS is enough for a sub but I can get one for $700 so I might do it) or a VX1000/5i (those are ex$pensive!) so that leads me to a 4 ch with another 600W @ 2 ohm amp for a sub. I think 75w per channel for doors/deck is fine.
So with that type of build. Fronts only or traditional front and rear?
