Hi,

So I recently put a HO ProCharger kit on my 2015 Gt mustang with an upgraded P1X head until. It dynoed 533whp and 475 tourqe. The kit is rated with the P1sc to put out 8psi of boost. I would assume with the PIX that it has potential to add maybe a 1lb or so. When I dynoed it, the dynocom read 12.1 lbs of boost! SAE numbers. This seems oddly high to me and I want to pulley down but this is already high. I would think with these HP numbers I would be right around 8 - 9 psi. This is an AUTO car, so numbers are a bit lower. My plans were to add a BAP and pully down to make around 10psi of boost. Procharger and Lund both recommend a 3.5 pulley for this. Anyone have any idea why the boost readings would be so high?

Pic attached of the dyno reading.

If you have the 4” pulley at 8psi and go to a 3.5 you will over shoot your boost.
I had the same problem as you have. So I asked procharger And they said that there’s no way and that it wasn’t making that much boost and they looked at a log and said everything is fine and well the motor blew up. Procharger denied any responsibility. Same kit same year

Do you have catalytic converters? Could be clogged idk, but something is definitely wrong.

Im guessing Mass has emissions so you cant pull the cats. Id start with a manifold, 18 or GT350. open up the exhaust after the cats. and see where it ends up at. Without seeing log i cant tell what timing its seeing. But based on the curve the stock manifold is hurting you.

I think the kit is supposed to make 8psi at stock redline and it did. You went way past stock redline

And the reason for the low power is because it made the extra boost after you were out of your rpm range. So boost went up right as the intake manifold was maxed out

Interesting. So the manifold dies a bit after 6200rpm and boost continues to climb. I also failed to mention, that the P1X in stock form comes with a 3.7 pulley. That's what I currently have. If I pulley down to a 3.5, will I see more boost sooner in the rpm range? Or does it make more sense to get more air, better manifold, and add rpm with the stock 3.7 pulley and keep climbing the rpm range to recieve more boost?

You definitely need a new manifold. Yes the stock one will fall flat on its face around 6500. A 2018gt intake, gt350, or boss intake will keep making power to 7500-8000 then on top of that drop pulley size to a 3.7 after that you can get e85 or water/meth and drop to a 3.5. Also by swapping to a smaller pulley you are going to start making boost sooner. How much sooner depends on the size of the pulley

Okay on the manifold. Assuming I'll need larger injectors with that? I'm on the 52lb injectors that came with the kit and will be adding a bap. Procharger and Lund told me that to stay no higher than 10psi, or I'd need some kind of crank support. If I add the new mani, won't I be hitting 10 or higher in boost? If so, will that no longer be safe to run?

The manifold will lower boost. 52lb and a bap are fine with a manifold. I don’t know why you need a crank support at more than 10 psi. With the manifold and 3.7 you will be closer to 12psi at 7500

Did you feel a lose of tourqe down low when you added in the manifold? Both sure why, that just what procharger and Lund said to keep the car happy and safe. Shrugs. What are you boost numbers? Are you running any crank support?

Just not a fan of adding more boost when other things could be maximized. I see about 14psi at 7500-7600. Don’t worry about a crank support right now, you’re not even at 600wheel. And doubt Procharger even makes one for the HO kit

Seems like I've been thrown in the wrong direction by these companies. I just read through another thread to we're even a procharger tech said there's no need for crank support until you're hitting crazy numbers, why they told me this must be purely for sales :/...

OP, if you are going to be looking for a 2018+ intake manifold, I will have one coming off of my 2021 this week. Might be able to work out a deal if you were interested. Mine has 630 miles on it. Just let me know.

I'd possibly be interested, yes. Shipping cost might be a bit much I'm thinking. I live in MA.
