IAT's aren't as big of a deal if higher quality of fuel is utilized. It's pump gasoline that it has more sensitivity to bad events.

I've spoken with a tuner who doesn't even get concerned with IAT's on E85 until they reach 150+, which was wild to me. (on E85). Pump gasoline is a different matter. But unless the tune is making changes to air load, adjustments to timing advance shouldn't have any effect on physical boost created at rpm (just how efficiently it uses what's provided).
