OP, I just saw you wanted to go with a custom dyno tune.

A custom dyno tune is better than any canned email tune.

Let’s add some more exhaust clips to this thread for the OP. Here’s my Bullitt with Ultimate Headers long tube headers, high flow cats, Steeda X-pipe and factory Active Exhaust. No drone at all, at any speed.

A custom dyno tune is better than any canned email tune.
I get some concern, depending on the experience of a shop, but I do have one in town that is legit. They do a lot of wild conversions on a lot of different brands, they also drag cars themselves and road race.

I did/do my own.

The best thing with a local dyno tune is if you have an issue the tuner is across town. Customer service is much better since you can demonstrate the problem instead of having to try and describe it in an email or phone call.

This works when a drivability issue poppes up and the famous E mail tooner says "we won't track that down"

They can see irregularities in the log.
Why would a drivability issue "pop up"?

I'm not going to argue this with you or anyone. Search for certain tuners names and you will find many instances of where they throw their arms in the air and say they won't fix it.

Before I learned to tune I was having trouble with tuners not listening to what I wanted the car to do. Surging, unexplained idle drops, flaring trans..... Too many to list.

If you have a cookie cutter car and a cookie cutter tune and are happy, more power to you. Some of us like better than just OK.

Say Lund is in your town... Saying you can't get a more accurate tune from Lund at their shop vs their off shelf program is a little odd... But as above, not going to argue about it.

Who was trying to tune your car?
What yahoo installed your parts?
I never had an issue with surging, unexplained idle drops, or flaring trans.
3 revisions is all it took to get my combo flawless.
gt350 intake /tb pmas cai

This was back in 2016! Amazing customer service, low rpm throttle response was spot on. Even with the gt350 tb. No hiccups, no stumble, no surging, no bs.
I was expecting hiccups with the tune since back in the day *to my knowledge*, had not been done before.

Flex-fuel , race, idle lope ALL with no issues.
The car shifts harder in sport than it does in drive.
With a "cookie cutter tune"

I would only trust two shops tuning my car. Lund and AED
There is no reason for them to have to strap your car down for something they have seen a million times before.

I'm glad you had a good experience, I did not.

If you are in the same town as Lund and you want him to do a dyno tune, then you are getting a local dyno tune.
