I have to go back to get the remainder of xpel done. I will need to remove the CFTP wing mounts to do a seamless xpel job on the decklid.

Has anyone removed these mounts yet? I get the big picture. 3 bolts per side. I just would like a heads up if I am going to encounter double-sided tape or whatever.

Thanks

Actually interested in this as well, curious to know if the base spoiler and the CFTP wing align to the same holes, my luck probably not.

The CFTP cars use a blank trunk lid, no spoiler or wing holes. The holes are done after production in the mod center.

I understand that, just didnt know if the bracket holes for both are in the same location or different.

If they were the same, they wouldn't have to drill the CFTP holes in the lid after the car was produced. The Base car spoiler is installed on the assembly line and the holes are in the lid before paint.

My PPF guy is going to add a second layer under the wing to give more protection.

My PPF guy has already removed my wing. No tape, but paint damage.

Wow. And they didnt even do any corrosion protection where they drilled.

Is that paint damage all the way through the clear? What is the plan for the paint?

Tom they think the paint shifted because it wasn’t fully cured. They are going to see how much will polish out and go from there.

yup mine was the same or worse after we removed the wing to ppf the deckled.Raw chipped paint and drilled like a hack.I touched mine up around all the bolt holes so it won't corrode.we put the wing back on and I am making believe I didn't see it.Also look inside the trunk jam near the hinges.I had light scratches there because they must disconnect the deckled struts when they install the wing and let them rub on the paint on the jam. That really got me twisted.I looked at another CFTP and it had the same .

You would think they would have put some type of barrier or thin cushion between the wing and the trunk lid to prevent the damage. It would have made more sense to drill the holes before painting it, but what do I know. Or at least after drilling the holes you smooth it out and put primer to protect it. But I guess thats what you get for half assed work.
