I was wondering what parts you were referring to?
I have not been in the car yet and was curious so I could
take a look.

Also, I watched a review and the guy said that the door panels on the premium were soft touch vs the base GT - which model where you in?

Thanks.
From what I remember from sitting in an Ecoboost Premium earlier today it was all hard plastic around the cup holder area of the console, upper and lower door panels, all around most of the rear interior side areas etc, in addition to some other areas up front. If these areas are soft touch in the GT then I'd be very pleased. I also saw how the fake stitching looked around the dash pad...not very good. I don't think using soft touch would be a big wear issue at all, as many manufacturers are using it with little to no issues...it's all about cost savings; although I would gladly pay an extra $300 built I to the MSRP for all soft touch materials. I also think the impression the interior makes greatly depends what car you were coming from/used to...if you were in a previous generation mustang it gonna better much better, but as an example an Audi driver would not be happy.

On another note the panel fit appeared about perfect...the car was black, but I looked very closely car was delivered to the dealership today and sold.

Yes, the rear areas are hard plastic, which is fine by me. Not much room for passengers back there anyway :)

The console is the same in all models.

I was disappointed in the hard plastic in the top of the doors and the faux stitching on the top of the dash. Otherwise I was impressed by the quality and style of the interior.

Very true about the rear areas, but soft touch paint even looks more upscale.

Too bad the consoles are the same...cost would have been negligible to have made this soft touch paint, or even better plastics.

Anyone know if Ford etched the cars vin# on all the glass. It lowers insurance cost.
Hows etching a vin on glass going to be a theft deterrent? Smash the glass and it has to be replaced...I would be more concerned of major components in the vehicle assy if it has vin etched to those and having a passive/active antitheft system with lockout... that will be a bigger discount than etched glass

Shhh. Don't give the insurance companies a reason to stop that discount. Those that do anyway.

Yes, and the console too. I am hoping rattles won't be an issue as hard plastic do tend to create more noises than soft materials.

If I recall thats fixed with the premier trim option which is like $380 and you get the leather wrapped dash(real stitching) and soft touch upper door trim. Thats what I'd call a no brainer option.

That would be great news. The car was was an Ecoboost "Premium". I gather what you are referring to is something optional beyond just premium? Hoping so!

With Window Etching a thief/ chop shop would have to replace ALL the glass before trying to sell or turn a vehicle.

UHM, I am an Audi driver and I am happy... besides the top portion of the door in my audi is a hard plastic with the majority of the door too. the only thing that was leather on the door was the arm rests and inlay up to the grab handles... center islands/console is all hard plastic... dash was all firm plastic. The Mustang GT Premium seemed like a luxury sport much like the Audi's in fact...My TT may be dated but between the two the quality in the Mustang was on par with current generation Audi TT and A5 Sport Coupes

I sat in a GT with premier interior and "cheap" never entered my mind.
I think they did a great job overall on the interior.
+1. They are selling a 435+HP car for 35K with an interior that makes me drool (for reference I owned a Nappa leather clad Audi TT which is considered a design and interior icon and currently own a leather wrapped BMW M6). Yes, there are some hard plastics at the bottom and the carpet is probably not thick, but really, Ford has to cut costs somewhere. If they have cut costs in those areas to keep the price accessible to the average Joe, I personally dont care. And trust me, unlike most here I dont have any qualms criticizing Ford nor do I owe them my loyalty.

Now about those uneven panel gaps....:headbonk::amen:;)

New Audis have some of the best rated interiors on the market. As I said in my first post of my thread, the hard plastic does not have to be leather wrapped but at least done in soft touch paint or materials...

We are going from a '13 GS350 Lexus F Sport and the difference in cabin refinement is much better on the GS, but our GS is also about $13k more than the GT we ordered...
