I smell it using any and top tier gas, after hard acceleration...
Yup, generally when I return home on country roads being in Sport+ with a few hard rips, when I pull into the garage it reeks of that.
And I almost exclusively get Top Tier Costco...

I'm in Canada and here Top Tier only means how much detergent is in the fuel, not the quality of the gas itself. The Costco near me sells Top Tier gas and the smell inside my garage is unbareable after I move the car inside. Any other name brand gas does not have the same smell. So I stay away from Costco.
I noticed the same. First time I filled up with 91 octane Costco gas, got the bad smell and I got knocking as well. Costco can keep their so called "top tier" gas.

Hello; The OP discovered the smell was his clutch burning up. This fits with my experience. I use to drive my manual car up some ramps to do service. Slipping the clutch a bit when doing so. There was a bad smell associated with the hot clutch. Not the same as the rotten egg smell from a converter but bad in it's own way.
Not sure if you have a manual trans. But if you do it may be hot clutch you smell.

EDIT - I decided to stop using ramps after noticing the smell from my clutch. Even tho I was only slipping the clutch briefly I figured it was extra wear. I now take the extra time and effort to jack up the car for service.

Yea, I read his follow-up after my post, just didn't edit my original comment.

Bullitts of my gen come with only manuals, but yeah I think it's the cat I'm smelling.
