I would assume the 40/60 is the C8 ZR1. Which makes sense given it’s a mid engine car.

That's GTD or C7?
Weight Distributions

GTD - 50F / 50R

C7 ZR1 - 51F / 49R (I was slightly off in my initial post)

C8 Z06 - 39F / 61R (I’ve also seen 40F / 60R published)

C8 ZR1 - Nothing specific published, but suspected to be similar to the C8 Z06

GTD has been widely reported in development to weigh about what the GT500 CFTP weighs at around 4,000lbs. The Z06 weighs about 3650. ZR1 with the turbos will probably come in around 3800.
According to Car and Driver, the Z06 that they tested weighed 3,800. ZR1 will weigh significantly more. Hopefully GM will be able to find a ZR1 with a fully functional transmission for 'ring testing.

I am saying 5th is too long and not optimal for the ring. They aren’t going to build a trans for the ring specifically and for obvious reasons they aren’t adjusting gear ratios in the trans for a ring time while at the track.
Oh I see. The transmission design on the Z06 isn't setup as well as it could be for track use. I get it - most tracks are a lot smaller than the Nurburgring. Still, there's no reason on an 8 speed dual clutch that you need tall gears in anything except maybe 8th.

Not sure I'm buying this reason. Possibly 5th just seems tall due to a combination of aero drag and the engine's power curve.

I have no skin in this game 🤣 Simply relaying what I’m reading on the matter. Z06 seems to live up to its potential on tracks not named Nürburgring.

Me either, as I'm not in the market for a vehicle with an automatic. I'd love to swap the Z06 engine into a Camaro with a manual transmission, though. Or a C7 Grand Sport would be a good car to throw one in as well.

I expected it to sail past 300K on the main straight and get near it coming into Schweden-Kreuz.
Oh it went way over 300K in the straight. And that’s not even accounting for the destination fees or the taxes. Or for the priceless tune that we can not buy.

Not really lol. The heavy hitters on the Nurburgring time list have rear weight bias. The 911 GT3 RS is 39/61 and both the AMG One and AMG GTR is 47/53.

I like to disassemble things.
I'd wager that this car is coming it at around 3700lbs in the best case scenario and is likely heavier.
I'll say 3850 pounds at best.
