My only question is this…we’ve spent decades saying that the Corvette and Mustang are not competitors. One is a grand tourer, the other is a pony car. But now all of sudden people think they should be equals?

Oh so right you are. The Mustang was a secretary’s car, the Corvette was America’s first true sports car. Ford tried to complete with the Thunderbird but that didn’t work out. Here we are some 60+ years later and our two remaining performance cars are going neck to neck at the world’s most iconic racetrack. Instead of celebrating this awesome accomplishment we are bicker over minutia.

To be fair they are pretty different cars these days.

In Europe you are very unlikely to cross shop the Mustang and Corvette because of price (Corvette is a lot more expensive) and layout (Mustang is a lot more practical conventional layout).

Corvette really competes here with lower rung 911, Lotus Emira type cars.

Mustang is more M2/M4 or CLE and more likely a daily.

The still photos are popping up all over social media. Gotta say, it might be my new favorite color on the GTD. If not, #2 color behind Grabber Blue.

Agreed. I am partial to the gray pallet. Magnetic Metallic was my only choice when I bought. But, then, the wife’s car is gray. The house is grey, and I was very disappointed when I had to get a white PU because there was no gray available.

I very much like this one.

Eh, I'm gonna go against the popular here and say that gray is very plain. Its like a color from the 60's with some clearcoat. Or perhaps primer. It just looks... industrial. Like something on an electrical box.

I dont understand the attraction on the Mach 1, either. My Mach 1 was Velocity Blue.

I'm not against grays... I have a Magnetic F150 and have a very beautiful Ford Sterling Gray on my Factory 5. I like my paints to look... nice. Not plain.

Just an opinion, dont want anyone getting their panties in a bunch.

While I like the LFG, the haunches of the GTD scream for a metallic paint with a ton of flip-flop in the sun.

I still want to see a modern version of Gulfstream Aqua.
