My guess/hope after the first run was to get it down to 6:40-6:45. If that’s an unofficial cell phone time, an official time would almost certainly be in that ballpark.I heard mention of a sub 6:50 time in testing less than a week ago and hoped it was true. Today I see this and its close to what I was told so it definitely raised an eyebrow from me. If they can be close to this on an official run it would be absolutely fantastic.
Hurry up and get the official time out before GM releases the ZR1 time (assuming the ZR1 is out there, I haven’t been paying close attention to them).
In the cover picture of that video, what is up with the tailpipe extensions? Looks awkward...
What good is a car if you can't finish a 30 min session?More interesting to speculate lap times, vs complaining about weight, and fuel tank size. Hoping for the program they are able to set a great time.
How many more gallons do you think you need? Making my own bolt in kickers on my "4 point", I'm intimately familiar with that space, at this point. What good is a car if you can't finish a 30 min session?
I dont agree with your assessment. What car are you running? I'll take a wild ass guess at a spec miata?
All that aside, the car shouldn't weigh 4400 pounds and should be able to run flat out for 30 mins.
5 gallons would be more than enough. Probably 2 with a hefty crossfeed system across the saddle would get it done. That's why I'm shocked at a 16 gallon tank.... a few more gallons with some engineering would check that box.How many more gallons do you think you need? For S & G, A 7 qt drain pan fits (more or less) in the recess under rear seat area (on each side). I'd guess two bladders would be at least 5 gallons total. Cover it with a steel panel and access to gas tanks is right there under those monster rubber grommets.
Understood you don't want to be bothered (and shouldn't be for that kind of coin), but if 21-22 gallons would be enough, I think it can be accomplished (assuming that area is more or less the same on S650 vs S550).
Your "wild ass guess" is incorrect, I have over 30 years in a Specracer Ford (an SCCA class), over 150 racing weekend events, including sprint races, 4 / 6 / 13 and even 3 24 hours enduros. The car will run for ~60 minutes. What good is a car if you can't finish a 30 min session?
