The way I read his post he doesn't know if he can afford it.
Edit: yea, I see that. My apologies. Deleted

Thanks for catching that.

If this is in reference to my post, there ain’t no wondering, I can’t. Thought I would have been able to based on how things were going towards the beginning of the year. Power isn’t there unfortunately. I’m doing good by many standards but not Homologated road going race car good.

Now depending on when the finance side needs to be taken care of that may change

First things first..... I have a lot of questions once Ford can reveal information I need to decide.
Roger on the weights, times, etc., Tom and I'm sure you have pages of questions for the team. I can find out the details that are interesting to me on the Web and honestly, I only care about whether all of you lucky (and well-financed, <BSEG>) individuals absolutely LOVE the car for whatever reasons tickle your tinkler. <smile>

I am seriously super happy for all of yn's.

Ford is paying each dealership who delivers the GTD $15,000.
Nope, not in the know and I find that quite interesting as I bet you do as well, Tom..it says a LOT.

Anyway… I am currently taking applications for rich step dads
Frickin' HILARIOUS, Flavoade and BTW, how do you pronounce that moniker? <grin>

Soooo yeah I got an allocation as well lol
And congrats to you amigo and frankly, I'm glad that I won't have that car payment even if Ford offers two percent. <GBSEG> (To quote a friend..<chuckling> "..for those not in the know," the acronynym translates to, Great Big Shit-Eating Grin)

Hope it comes to fruition dude but if not, NBD.

Me thinks with so many accepted buyers compared to the Ford GT, Ford is gonna pull something on folks down the road. It's just a sneaking suspicion of mine. That is unless my guess about the Prime Directive this time around being profit, turns out to be correct. In that case, the motive is clear as a bell.

Yeah man lol You just don’t know how true it is though:crackup:

Yeah I agree with you honestly. I have a few toys to go along with my 350. I’ve kinda had my fill of financing stuff, and I’m trying to build up an inheritance for my baby boy. With the exception of a motor coach for going to the F1 Grand Prix in Austin or a Huracan lol I wasn’t really trying to buy anything else.

Judging by the prices of Ford GT’s I would wager that the GTD will become more valuable after about 4 years or so. As much as I’ve always wanted a purpose built track car to live the amateur dream I’m not sure I’m ready for that now.

Yeah see I believe Ford does have a back up list of selected applicants for those whose situation has changed since applying or even if they are no longer interested. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do decide to extend the run and make changes; I mean never doubt the American system lol, they’ll always make another one or a better one lol

I was actually surprised only 7800 people even applied.

Hey there guys,

I applied for the GTD a few months back, and kinda forgot about it honestly; didn’t think I would be selected. Well I got the email Friday morning looking for something else in my inbox. Soooo yeah I got an allocation as well lol

I haven’t really paid much attention to the car since the application process.
lol…TLDR;

I applied, forgot, and was accepted 😂

Wow. How much do you have to pony up to lock out a color. Pun intended. :giggle:
I was told it’s an additional sub-5k…like 4500 or so, but what do I know as I turned down 3 HEP Rs at MSRP with no ADM 😂

Is that to lock it out, or for the full lot ?

If that’s an all in price for effectively a custom, one off, pick your name, lock it out colour, I think that’s very reasonable in the big scheme of things :like:

As a reference point, Ford U.K. charged me approx $1900 for my paint, and that’s a colour they chose, they named, that they run down the production line in large batches, and that they will sell to anyone that wants it …

WD :like:

edit for spelling

i will defer to any of the yahoos with an allocation when they get the deets…but I was told that’s to make it a one-off color that nobody else can has 🫠

Any body have idea on the cost for the main packages we know of? Carbon series? Performance pack w/ DRS? I was hoping for the price, it would come loaded with all the goodies but from the sound of it, I guessed wrong. The carbon series would be cool but honestly I prefer the full painted body and when I hear carbon I hear $$$$$ and a constant fear of scraping the carbon. I’m leaning more towards the performance with DRS. I got a color in mind for a lock out. Oh and whatever that F22 titanium add on is, I’m getting that!

Also, I’m very curious as to what the selection process was looking for. I feel it must have been a bit random or not nearly as strict as the GT. For example, I didn’t even submit a video and I was allocated one. Just gave a description of my cars and that I’ve saved a few Shelby’s from being parted out and got them back on the road. My list of cars at the time of ordering were the following so this is a bit TMI but I’m just curious as to why I was selected . Not complaining at all lol but could love to know more about the selection process. I think we all would.

1970 Chevelle SS
2021 GT500 (Auction)
2019 GT350 (Auction)
2023 Ford Raptor (Dealer)
2021 F250 (Dealer)

The 500 CFTP has embarrassed a lot of exotics (to include P cars) at Daytona. I can't imagine how this car will do. For instance, the weight of the 500 was a limitation on the inside course. I hauled ass on the outside course. All the time lost on the inside will be gained with the GTD. I'm shooting for 1:55 to 1:58 laps. Probably more the latter. Exciting times!
1:55-1:58? I’m fairly certain you’ll be pleasantly surprised and crush those numbers in the GTD without much problem. Hell, the FR500C 15years ago did 2:00.5.

When the GTD breaks the sub 7min at the Ring as Promoted by Ford, this thing should be 1:49-1:50 in experienced hands at Daytona. I believe Joey Hand said the GTD has the capability to beat the GT3 race car as it doesn’t have all the BOP, But you won’t get there the first day, enjoy congratulations.
