So I was bored on the commute to pull an aircraft out of maintenance, and poked around a little…

…and based on the GTD, those numbers didn’t make any sense. So I looked at the list, and there is only one other AMG that is not a Black or One. I’m guessing you are referencing the AMG 63S? But that thing is a pig too…4700 pounds, or is there a 3600 pounder I’m not seeing 🙃

I'm referring to GT-R Pro. Ok, it's 7:04 on the ring, but still.. put it on better tires, give it some more aero... and it's just a better track car all around with quite a bit of cash saved.

4700 pounds? I think I'll take a Miata fit 12 inch wide rubber, install a small block ford or LS, dual turbos and blow that AMG pig out of the water. Hell wouldn't need the turbos.

It's amazing what software can do to get that time on 4700 lb vehicle.....

Yeah, it's a packed list. Let's see what will it take for GTD to beat the Black version of this.
Not happening lol. AMG GTR Black Series is a badass ride (not that the GTD isn’t) and the weight distribution is superior (not to mention less weight overall).

1,000%. I’m not a Porsche fan but I don’t deny how they perform. They’re the standard on track. To me, the looks and sounds are just meh.

However, I’m with you Charlie. The 350 and the 500 just have an aura around them. They’re head turners at every event I go to (unfortunately not many these days). I know Porsche’s aren’t out there in large numbers, but it seems for every GT350 or GT500 at a C&C, there’s at least 2 or 3 Porsche. The Shelby’s generally get more attention

I'd take a GT3RS with the Weissach package any day over those you mentioned.

No thanks but you do you
There’s a big difference between “take” and “buy” Want to give me a GT3RS? Fine, I’m good with that. Then I’d sell it, buy a GT350 & GT500 and have a few shekels left over for dinner.

Price aside, you don't like the GT3RS?
It’s a fantastic performer no doubt and Porsche is the standard for track cars, but I’ve just never been a Porsche fan. I’d do what Ira said if someone gave me a GT3RS. Sell it, buy both a 350R and a GT500 CFTP and call it a day. I much prefer the looks and sounds of the Shelby’s. Again, that’s just my personal preference. I’m not good enough on track that I care about every last second. I’d rather have something that’s fast but also appeals to me visually and audibly (Porsche doesn’t check either of those boxes for me).

Hmm,

Almost opposite. Keep the 350Rs, 500, and get a GT3RS. What's a shekel worth these days?

Edit:

Shekel to the USD

And ladies and gentlemen, that's why these exotic hypercars cost so much money. They started with a light frame or CF tub and have specialized parts and pieces that have been lightened as much as possible. The 5.2, supercharger, dct transaxle is killing the weight. The steel doors left due to DOT isn't helping either. Remember, it started with a heavy car. Not much you can do.
Check out the Ferrari financial statements and note the massive profit margins. I've seen the new ones heavily disassembled mainly for mods, PPF, police countermeasure installs etc and besides the carbon bodies (cheap to produce now) and drive trains there nothing special about them in fact they almost look like hobby built cars with super cheap interiors from the 80s econo boxes. It's the brand you pay for.

Soooooo than why not incorporate all of that into the GTD then?
