They don't corner well on the ground.Screw a bike, get a fighter jet.
But for those 10 seconds or less, I’m freeThey don't corner well on the ground.
Guess no one ever ran a 20-22 CFTP there??I know you weren’t asking me but I feel as though it’s still too early to say yay or nay due to times. The track is going through a repave so come spring I would expect ford to go again and it should yield better times off of that alone. A lot of variables can be changed between now and Spring. Engine tuning and weather can shave a few seconds.
I hope they upload lap video with edits.
Guess we'll have to wait for GTD @ VIR then........I haven’t seen an official test video.
Anyone who thinks Ford doesn’t have a little left in their back pocket doesn’t know Ford all that well!Farley says they’re not done at the Ring, FWIW

The key is - to keep the Vette from taking the title (American car title that is)…. Right now, the Mustang owns it (again, American car).I think if they can knock 10-15 seconds off and be around 6:40/6:45, I’d say that’s pretty respectable.
From what I gathered watching the video, it was more important to be the first American manufacturer to go sub-7 at the Ring than to put out their best lap time right off the bat (although they were trying like heck to, the weather just didn’t seem to cooperate). They’ll be going back and it sounds like they feel they can make a better time. How much better? I guess we’ll have to see.The key is - to keep the Vette from taking the title (American car title that is)…. Right now, the Mustang owns it (again, American car).
Of course, what idiot would build a race car and expect people to not race it? Oh yeah, Ford.interesting![]()
Buyers who can afford buying these cars aren't losing interest....they're just going to buy all of them.IMO they needed to push this out as buyers are already losing interest to the ZR1 and Zora and the new Porsche on the horizon not to mention the added price for the carbon performance GTD variant of this. I think they are trying to get ahead of this and it’s a smart move.
