After nearly 2 years of waiting, I get to drop off my GT500 with Shelby American for my King of the Road conversion next Monday.

I definitely am not going to be as badass as @Jmeo’s car is, but it’s going to fulfill a dream of mine to have a true Shelby. Hopefully it’s as cool as I think it’s going to be.

Awesome news! Congratulations. Wide body?
I decided against the wide body, wasn’t really my thing. I am getting painted stripes, the harness bar, and the aluminum coolant tank as options. Decided to keep the supercharger and wheels black. I didn’t think the polished look would go with my car color.

I’m also not having them do any extra carbon beyond what comes with the package…….mainly because I’ve already done it all 🤣.

It's going to be awesome! Again, congratulations. I hope the process goes smoothly for you.

Do you retain your CF wheels? I LOVE Grabber Yellow on the 500’s btw. Gorgeous car. Congrats on the KR conversion!

Thank your sir. I hope it goes smoothly as well. I figure without the wide body, and the fact that we’re so far removed from COVID shenanigans, that it should be ok. 🤞

Agreed, it should be pretty straight forward for you.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I do get to keep the CF wheels. It’ll be nice to have 2 sets of wheels finally.

Grabber Yellow looks great on the car, especially in the sun. Funny enough, I had never seen another S550, let alone a GT500 in the same color until a few weeks ago when I hit up a C&C in south Orange County. There was a Mustang club that rolled in with probably 40 cars total, and about 15 or so current generation GT500s.

And this guy took the “Predator” name quite literally with his car. Had speakers that played lines from the movie and Predator noises all the while.

I follow him on Instagram, his car is pretty wild.

That’s great that you keep the CF wheels. That’s pretty cool that another GY car rolled up to the same meet. There’s one GY GT around here, trying to meet up with him at some point so we can get a pic with 2 of the 3 Grabber colors from S550. The Grabber colors work really well on S550

With all that bling Dave, I'll bet a C Note that the owner is a good bit younger than most of us. <grin> Definitely not my thing and actually, the photo made me cringe a bit.

Yeah he was on the younger side. Car made me cringe a bit as well in person. Love the movie though.

Congrats! I wanted the widebody but get the SE hood as well. They will not. Do not want to pay 55K to get a hood.
