I'm saying the 5.2 with a cross plane crank. But this is just speculation based on the fact that the 5.0's bore shrouds the valves. This is the same reason why Ford went to 5.8 liters with the Trinity.
A 5.2 cross plane crank, supercharged V8 :headbang:

At this point, I'd be surprised to see Ford go the SC route.

They've spent serious effort getting turbos right.

They dun got all exotic on us with the GT350 power plant.

I doubt the big brother GT500 goes old school.

Turbos are simply a better, more efficient way of making power.

It would almost be irresponsible of Ford not to go that route.

A TT Voodoo (FPC intact, minus the power robbing, but sound enhancing headers setup) would send shockwaves across the industry... Not to mention sending fans and customers into a rabid frenzy...

And that's a good thing btw

But even a TT 5.0 would be untouchable by competitors.

Let the hellcat waste its potential. Let the LT4 continue its...whatever it is that it's doing...and let Ford keep showing the other guys how to build modern engines.

It makes sense to me, given their use of twin turbo's on EVERYTHING. The first eco-boost(beast) v-8. That would make an awesome Gt500. A TT FPC, that would be ridiculously awesome. Ford does have this thing about liking to beat Ferrari ;)

Just FYI, in at least one of those videos of the Boss posted earlier, the driver was Johathan Bomarito, who is also a very accomplished pro, like Randy. It therefore makes sense that his time and Randy's time would be relatively close. It's not like some random journalist was running times a second faster than Randy.

Also, in the C&D Lightning Lap, the ATS-V was 6 seconds faster than the GT/PP (and 3 seconds faster than the 302 L/S). So, again, it seems like the ATS-V is doing fine. If the Camaro SS is anywhere close, it will be mighty impressive (although with the brakes it has, I doubt it could handle more than a lap or two at Laguna Seca).

The 1le had 4 pot bakes with 14" in the front and wasn't a issue. The 2016 is 170lbs lighter and has 13.6 fronts. So I can't see any real disadvantage.

Well one thing is for sure. Gm has their hands full if they use the zo6 engine. Huge black eye for gm.

The Caddy uses the same LT4 and did not suffer the same problem. Wonder why?

A lot larger opening for air and aerodynamics that don't push air over the top as aggressively as the vette.

That's really all I can come up with.

They will figure it out eventually.

The engine can't be the problem if it's packages the same as the cts-v.

There is just more room to breath on the caddy

Maybe this is why we all started hearing chatter about a mid engine Vette?

Damn, that is disheartening.

They didn't specifically say it was a cooling issue although, it had to be pulling power for a reason.

It's true the Corvette doesn't enjoy direct airflow as much as the CTS-V and it would certainly be the reason an LT4 would run hotter... but to just kill power for no reason is something strange.
