950$ CAD, so about 750-800 USD. already sent the link to someone so not going to forward it to more people so the traffic doesn't drive the price up.

It is clearly evident in your posts that you want the R calipers. You are trying to rationalize both for and against - a noble effort. But in the end what matters is that the factory red Brembos just look damn good. Take the bull by the horns and make it happen. You can move your original units for a fair price by selling them to someone looking to custom color powdercoat, making the switch even more reasonable. Also a great opportunity to add other caliper hardware at the same time that can make your car even more track worthy.;)
Nice... I saw what you did there.:headbang::cheers:

I like to disassemble things.
Good advice. @Epiphany , what lug nuts are you using with your 6gr wheels?
Hey brother.

I'm using the supplied nuts that came with the R spec wheels. They aren't the highest quality but they get the job done. I've picked up a pair of new front hubs and am going to look at a few MSI stud variants and will likely change to an open lug that is a bit more robust. Yet another project on the list that I won't get to until the weather warms up around here.:(

ON EDIT:
I may pick up the following kit from FRP for some extras and some test pieces. I don't need the front or rear calipers so if somebody was interested maybe we could work out a price for the R front/rear calipers that beats the best vendor pricing out there. If anyone is interested just let me know.

Pretty happy with the change to red calipers. Sold my originals for $100 less than I had inthe new ones.
Curious, who or where did you sell yours to for that much? I want the R calipers, but wouldn't want to pay more than $400 after reselling of my black ones.

Thanks. Just curious. I am using open lug MSI for the track. They are not aesthetically pleasing, but are of high quality and you can count on them.

99% sure the R calipers are powder coated from the factory
The red R calipers are painted not powder coated. An easy way to tell this is they painted over the piston dust boots which are rubber as is the brake line cross over rubber sleeve.

The problem with the painted calipers on a track car is they turn color. Once that red gets hot it'll become brown. It's hideous.
Ford should of anodized them like the non R calipers instead of paint. I personally wish they were light gold like the concept gt350r.

IMO the blue calipers on the RS are ugly also.

All the factory Brembo calipers I've held in my day were painted.

Yup people used to call Mitsubishi Evo brembo, Brownbo. Their red would turn brown easy. Before big brake kits were produces for every car. We used to make brackets to mount Skyline black or gold brembo to other cars. Stayed away from EVO's Brownbo.

Anodized or nickel plated would be cool. Anodizing fades in sunlight though. Probably why they don't offer it on production vehicles. I don't know the downsides of nickel plating. Must be something holding them back.
