Hey All,

I'm going to be receiving my new to me GT350R and want to buy another set of wheels and tires for the street. I'm going to get PS4S tires.

I'm wondering though, what is the minimum width wheel and offset you can run on these? My GT currently runs American Racing AR924s that are 20x10.5 wide. Was trying to figure out if I can make a black set work. My unpopular opinion is I don't need 305+ on the rears or front for the street, so might as well save some money on tires and get something that is adequate. Want to also run 20in on the street for additional ground clearance.

Thanks for any help here

Congrats on the new to you car. R’s are amazing. Me personally I wouldn’t change the oem setup size. Not much savings in the end on tires. If you do want to go down just go down to the 350 setup. I had 20’s(bc forged) in an r spec on my 20 350 at one point but much preferred the true r spec, those were bc forged as well. That car was down a bit to basically the same height as my R. There are some very good wheels(apex for example) that are really light, not expensive, great quality, and offer the r spec setup. What you save on the wheel side would more then make up for the tires. What makes an R so sweet is the overall setup. I’d change that as little as possible if it was me. The ps4’s are a great tire for daily use. I ran conti’s, great tire as well. Post up a pic when the car gets to you. We never get tired of seeing these cars around here. Congrats again! Great early Xmas present.

Do the stock set up 315 rear 305 front. I also went with the PS4S street tire , was a great decision for street tire.

I assume tramlining essentially is gone after that change right?

Oh ya I have none now , the cup 2's were terrible for that. Grip is slightly less but not that you will even notice. I also did a BC Forged (309) rim but stuck with a 19"

Get replica wheels. I'd avoid the 20s specifically because the rubber is so much more expensive, and you aren't going to gain ground clearance. Not to mention the added rolling weight of bigger wheels.

Personally, unless you live in salt or really rough roads, id keep running the CF wheels.

Congrats on the new car!

Agree with Charlie and others, stay as close to the R spec as possible. Apex is having their big Black Friday sale right, some good prices to be had. Check them out

Save your money, rock the CF wheels!

I have driven on mine for almost 70k miles now, no issue from coast to coast 😬
Yeah it's more just saving the SC2 for the track on those and removing the tramlining when going for a cruise. The PS4S is an excellent daily tire especially if it rains so thinking those will be the right solution for the PNW where I'm at

Here's my budget all season set up for my 350R. Not in the PNW but the NE is pretty rough as well. 285 35 19 all around on these wheels. Attached the specs for you. That's the "R" specific set. So you're good. They're heavier than the CF and your wheel studs will show. This set up is a big change from the CF SC2 set up, but there are no problems.

Thank you! You've taken the approach I was trying to consider. I love the big tires of the R, but if I'm cruising/daily/or winter driving on a sunny day, just seems unnecessary. Doesn't seem like a huge price difference, looks like $60 difference. Gives me something to think about. Leaning towards getting some Velgen Classic5 V2 wheels off CJ.

Those PS4S won't do you any favors from late November through April or so up there in Washington state. All seasons are the way to go. Sizes are restricted in the HP All Season category unfortunately. 305 30 20 and 285 35 19 offer some good choices.
