Needed at least a little something for comparison, but they went top shelf for the SS. The 1LE was 3 seconds faster than the SS at Willow.
Which gen/config are we talking here?

Flat black hood is a racing thing to do away with glare. The 69 Boss 302 had it also.
Oh of course yeah that's what the matte finish is for. It's another idiotic mistake that GM has made - like putting carbon ceramic brakes on the Z/28. They cost way too much and the performance benefit isn't there.

99.9% of Camaro 1LE buyers will want to spend many street miles with it and they will want it to look good. Who wants a dumb matte finish hood full of scratches? :frusty:

Both are features that sound good in a magazine or look good in the showroom, but in actuality they make the car worse than it would be without them.

Corvette GTLM VS. Ford GT. Results @ the Rolex 24 . Push rod Chevy 1-2
The Shelby GT350 R-C did win the continental @ Daytona but there were only 8 cars and only Porsche. No Camaro,Bmw, Aston Martin and etc.
Entering it's 3rd year of competition.. this car was a carry over from YEARS of development and basically an updated chassis from the c6r including carry over engine.. it didn't go very well for them year 1 either... I took this picture during the 2014 24hr.. Guess what... tranny problems.. people in glass houses shouldn't cast stones..

I really want the Ford GT to do well in the Rolex series and I think they will because they have the speed. They had trans problems @ the Rolex. When the 24 hours @ Le Mans comes in June Ford will be ready. 50 years and it's great for Ford and us fans can be proud as hell.
But remember Corvette has won there 8 times since 1966. They are now both competing in the GTLM class. Should be a great year in racing.
Chevrolet has ZERO overall Le Man's victories.. Ford on the other hand..

Unfortunately I'm bald and cant grow a mullet so I have to stay with the GT350. I think its the best car Chevy will make vs the price just like on the last gen Camaro (ZL1 to slow and heavy and pricey, Z28 nice and fast but way to over priced)

And another CM interior fail. Seriously who do they pay to come up with the dash lay out ? It looks like a mock up that a 16 y/o would draw in homeroom. YUCK !
I thought that too until I actually sat in one in person. I have to say the interior is volumes better live than it is in photos, and honestly really well put together.

Ford is the only North American automotive manufacturer to have won the 24 Hours of Lemans and of course they won this race 4 years in a row from 1966 thru 1969. Nothing short of sensational and certainly the most significant accomplishment in racing for the Ford Motor Company.

It will be very interesting as to how the new 2017 Ford GT does come this June 18th as many of us will be watching and hoping that the Ford GT will have a successful debut!

If the transmission can hold up the GT will be such a joy to watch. For those of us that were not born to see the GT40 race and dominate, we can only hope for an awesome showing! Will for sure be watching as much of the race as possible! :ford:

Sorry, I mean the Mustang GT350 should beat the Camaro SS as the Z28(or whatever they call it) is it's true competition. It is not a fair comparison, as the GT350 is track focused and outclasses the SS on the track with ease. I would not compare a GT or SS with its lower performance V6 version for example.
I don't know if there will be a Z/28 for the 6th gen Camaro, at least not like the current one. As I said before, it seems like GM is putting their eggs in the S/C basket, so I think the next Z/28 might be more like the ZL-1. If so, it would probably be competition with a GT500 (assuming one arrives) rather than a GT350. It might be that the SS 1LE is GM's GT350 competitor. And it might be very good competition at that.

If GM does put the LT-4 in the Camaro (and I'm pretty sure spy photos have already shown it on the 'Ring), that car will be pretty nuts. Of course I also expect a GT500 to arrive at some point as well, which will make for an awesome comparison.

I would love to see a 6th Gen Z/28 similar to the 5th gen, but I don't think GM is going to be producing the LS7 much longer, although one can always hope.

The next Z Camaro will definitely have the LT4 supercharged engine. It is already coded into the computers and has been seen many times by performance companies running tests and diagnostics.

I really think you are right, and that concerns me! Like Cashcow said, there are already programs for the LT4 in the Camaro CPU, and there are videos of the S/C Camaro with a revised fascia, new wing, etc running the tracks.

I would not want a S/C track car, even if they fix the cooling issues from the Z06. I am hoping GM has something up their sleeve, but I would be shocked if they came out with something as unique and awesome as the voodoo, but then again the LS7 is a great motor minus the valve guide issues. It is time for GM to replace that motor with another N/A monster.

Ford is not going for a overall win because they are in the GTLM class. It will be great for a win but not sensational. They are not going after the top dogs. Like I said Corvette has won this class 8 times. Who the hell will fork over $400K for a Ford GT. I had a new 05 Ford GT but will not be in this market .....even if my application was accepted. I don't even think the 1% crowd understands this car.
One more thing on this Voodoo engine it's not a proven reliable product yet. I parked my money too see what shapes up over the next couple of years. Hell even a used 17 NSX might be the fix.

That was just the rumored pricing, probably made up by horsepower kings. I'm guessing it'll be around 200k-250k base which isn't bad when you look at what it's competing against.
