Wrong....Last year in 2015, they were all bragging about the almighty Z28....You're new around here...Lots of Camaro vs. Mustang threads that have ended up being locked because of all the bickering and name calling.

MSRP @ $75K why would we. Chevy made a Hugh mistake pricing that car and paid for it. That engine had its flaws and people knew it. So what's to talk about . It just goes to show what a great chassis can do for the Camaro now. Ford should have had a weight reduction and a little more power on the all new 15 mustang GT. They missed the mark on that one. I also think they needed a little more grunt down low on the non R 350. Like the previous post said you can't use the 8000 rpm on the street.

The Z/28 has been the pinnacle of the Camaro line to date, and unless this 1LE is faster, which I doubt, then the Z/28 still reigns in Camaro talk.

But, you guys tout a car in a different class but fail to mention the 350's direct competitor cause you know it's a loss-loss.

Z/28 is more of a true racer and purist car... It is technically not a hodge podge of GM parts thrown together in a bucket of ass as the 1LE will be. The Z/28 exemplifies the price of a real racecar... The 1LE is a poser full of GM parts that you could probably find on anything from a Sierra to a Vega.

Each to his own but I have owned and driven numerous M3 coupes and convertibles and although I enjoyed them I personally would never buy another M car.

I am sure that the M2 will be a nice car but keep in mind that this car is a compact coupe with the MSRP starting at ~$53,000. Add some nice options of which typically BMW has many for these M cars including options such as upgraded paint, upgraded wheels/tires, DCT, competition package and a whole host of many other options I suggest that this car will sticker between $65,000 and $70,000 depending how optioned.

Certainly should be a nice car but it is still a 6 cylinder vehicle that has the sound to go with it and knowing BMW it will come in some very plain paint colors schemes as in the past.

I had one M with the DCT and what a mistake that was. The 6 speed is by far the best transmission to go with from an enthusiasts standpoint.

Personally I think that the M cars are much over priced for what a person is getting and it took me a number of M cars to finally figure it out.

Usually that is the case, but for the M2 its completely different. I was considering the M2 as a backup for me if I couldnt find a GT350 at MSRP expecting the same thing you mentioned with the insane addon of options, but shockingly thats not the case. Price of base is 51700, destination is 995, and the only options you can tick are 550 for 3 of the metallic paints (only 4 colors are offered unfortunately), 1250 for the executive pack (heated steering wheel, rear view camera, park distance control, automatic high beams, active driving assistant, speed limit info), and 2900 for the M double clutch with drivelogic. Everything else is standard. This is from the order guide. I was shocked when I seen it since the standard equipment is really nicely equipped, honestly better than most cars I have looked at. Made me think someone at BMW lost their mind because this is very unlike them as they do like to pick away at you with options. Thankfully I found a 2017 allocation at MSRP for a GT350 so it is a moot point for me, but for anyone looking another direction I believe the M2 is an absolutely screaming deal. Also when inquiring to 3 different dealers in Ohio and WV I was offered MSRP built to my spec. Which is another bonus.

It would probably give ACR Viper a run for its money!

Yeah there is a huge difference between body work and the unibody itself. Its assembled side by side with every other mustang made, so yeas there is still a ton in common.

And you are really smoking crack if you think modern pony cars are going to come in at 3400lbs. Even the dedicated 2-seater sports car Z06 with aluminum body and CF/composite this and that is still a 3500lb car.

Needed at least a little something for comparison, but they went top shelf for the SS. The 1LE was 3 seconds faster than the SS at Willow.

Sorry, I mean the Mustang GT350 should beat the Camaro SS as the Z28(or whatever they call it) is it's true competition. It is not a fair comparison, as the GT350 is track focused and outclasses the SS on the track with ease. I would not compare a GT or SS with its lower performance V6 version for example.

You mean people were bringing up the Z28 in all Mustang v Camaro threads here in 2015, I am guessing bragging, trolling, and be a$$holes)? Which still leaves me confused why I was wrong in the post you quoted, but does explain a lot regardless.

I was replying, by saying the reason nobody has brought up the Z28 was because it is a 1LE v GT350 thread and not a Z28 v thread. Trying to keep it on track is all.
