Am I seeing this correct? The stock GT TB made 30 ft/lbs more tq and only 6 less hp than the GT350 TB? Along with having a longer and higher curve? Is that correct or am I reading it wrong?
You are seeing it correctly. I'm still waiting for someone to show proof of gains with a GT350 throttle body.

Just recently lund got the gt350 tb dialed in, so he sent me a timing locked tune (27 degrees) for both the stock and gt350 tb for dyno comparison purposes, so as soon as i get time im going to hopefully shed light on this....hopefully tomorrow the dyno is free as im off work.....i also plan on getting a fresh pull on the full timing flex tune using whichever tb comes out on top (i have tunes for both)

I have had two really good tuners give me tunes with this gt350 tb and I have not been able to attribute any power or torque from it. Both Lund and Rev Auto (Von Gitten Jr.'s tuner) have tuned my car with it. Only made a few extra hp and 10tq from adding headers, and the tb. I'm starting to wonder if I lost some of the header gain from a tb loss. I may do a back to back dyno with the stock tb vs the gt350 tb with my Lund tunes that I have for them each. Just wish I could have had Rev do back to back dyno tunes with them.

30ft-lb compared to the gt-350 tb? no thats wrong! If your comparing it to an improperly tuned gt-350 t.b. Maybe. But there is no comparing a correct tune to an incorrect tune. The stage 3 powerpack from ford performance uses the gt-350 tb and it makes the most power of the previous staged power packs. It does so because its properly tuned by ford performance. There are not many tuners out there that have r&d the gt-350 tb. Do you think you can take your stock gt tb with its adapter bolt it on a gt-350 car and make more power, no way...a bigger hole properly tuned makes more power!

List of tuners i know that have it dialed in. Jdm performance, lund, Jpc, rev auto....

Ok before everybody gets on the "theres no way thats right" train i will acknowledge the fact that that was a year ago and the first attempt of anyone outside of ford making an attempt at tuning that tb (ive been lund tuned throughout ownership), so be patient a real comparison will happen shortly

Also, in regards to anything car related but cubic inches and tire width, bigger is not always better.....no you cant downsize the tb on the voodoo 5.2 and make more power.....its a bigger displacement motor with more aggressive heads and cams....the 5.0 doesnt necessarily need the additional tb size.....and the comparison was made against my ported stock tb (84.5 mm)
If you have a gt350 tb or get the chance to get one in your hands look at the ledge at the tb opening as well as the downward transition that takes place right behind the throttle plate (the stock tb is straight through amd has no ledge)

Also, neat fact for the day, the 2016 camaro ss uses the exact same tb as the gt350.

My car's n/a build is done and going to the dyno tomorrow, it has stage 3 cams, trick flow2 upgraded valve springs, gt-350 intake and tb arh long tubes , and circle d 5c converter. my car with the cams will make more power with the bigger tb....

Damn right it will, youve got the cams for it, im really looking forward to your follow up post/dyno sheet, as cams are my next logical step.....but nobody, except for you, has stepped up and produced numbers....by chance did you baseline the car? Also look into getting that tb ported, camaro guys are picking up about 10hp from porting that hideous thing (local guy here ports and tunes them) you will probably realize higher numbers due to your new airflow needs

Na no baseline, when I dropped my car off they tore into the same day installing parts which was fine with me. Not gonna port it for now but who knows in the future!

I'm tuned in as well to see what the difference really is between the two TB's. But for me, either way it turns out, I'm more than happy with my stock 80mm and Lund tune. Drives and runs perfect with plenty of power for what I use it for. I thought about doing it, but eh. If I was doing cams or heads or both, then yeah, I'd probably get the 350TB.

If it turns out that a properly tuned GT TB offers about 10 hp more than a standard GT TB...then would you still be more than happy? LOL! Just a joke. I have the adapter to run the stock TB but as of right now I am running the GT350 TB. If the GT350 is capable of more power, or if I can't get it tuned properly, then I'll go back to the standard TB. Time will tell. But I don't think the difference would be much.

I'm running the newest tune from Lund with the GT350TB. It's still has partial throttle surging but nothing like what it was. Throttle response is crazy compared to the stock tb though. Was told this is about as good as it gets. If Ford has this dialed in I don't know why Lund doesn't copy the tables from one of the power pack tunes.

Is the surge all the time or just when cold?
Copying the tune would be stealing which they have been accused of before.
