Hey guys I'm new to this site and have an 18 Gt with a 10r80 trans. Doing some drag racing with it and I'm a little concerned about the stoock axles. Has anyone been running the GT350 axles as opposed to the DSS or G Force axles, and if so how are they holding up. I have kooks long tubes, H-pipe, aluminum driveshaft, P Mas cold air and an E85 tune. Went the best of 11.32 @ 124.68 Friday night at SGMP. Just don't know how strong the GT350 axles are. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't think you can use the GT 350 axles without the 350 rear brakes and hubs. The standard rear brakes have the parking brake integrated into the caliper, whereas the 350 has a small drum brake inside the rear rotor that is the parking brake. Because of this the 350 requires a totally different rear hub and it also pushes the wheel mounting flange outward, also requiring different offset wheels and a longer axle shaft.

GT350 axles fit the 15-17 with no issue and I think the same goes for the 18+

I have the GT350 axles in my 16GT

Maybe the difference in length is small enough that you can use them, but I would not try going the other way, i.e. standard axles on a 350, they might be too short. There is a reason ford gives you new axles and rear hubs on the gt 350 brake upgrade kit.

Is your 18 a performance pack? The 18 and up performance pack shafts have a different part number than the 350's but the shafts are identical.

No my car is not a PP car, it is a 300A, l bought the cheapest 10r80 car I could find strictly for drag racing it. I'm not going to ruin it by gutting it or anything like that, but it is primarily going to be used for drag racing and weekend car hangouts. I love the car, they are awesome.

The 350 left side axle is a great upgrade from the stock axle on a non PP 2018 A10 GT. It is a direct fit. The 350 axle is about 4.5 pounds heavier, has larger CV joints and doesn't taper down at the ends like the stock unit. Unless you go boosted, I think you will be fine with the 350 axle. The left side stock one is the one that usually breaks. I don't think there is any difference in the right side between a stock GT and a GT350.

Thanks for the pic and the info, l am picking up a new set from a member this weekend. He ended up not using them and they are new in the box. I also just ordered a ported intake from Beefcake Racing, goin to try and get the car into the 10's with stock converter and gears.

It seems that the 2018+ manual car halfshafts are visually indistinguishable from the GT350 halfshafts. If you can get them cheaper than the GT350 versions seems like a good buy to me.

Yes, that seems to be the case.

So...do pp1 18 up cars have gt350 axles or just the regular stock ones?? I was actually surprised one of mine did not break at my last drag outing. They were flopping like mad into 3rd gear. A Hellcat widebody auto snapped his on our run. Lol.

Can we verify this...?
Different part numbers but otherwise identical. I was going to install the 350 parts on mine and after I had my stock one removed I discovered everything was the same. Weight was the same and diameters were the same. I ended up returning the 350 shafts.
