Daily driving a GT 350 in traffic will get old quick. It rides harsh and it’s loud. You couldn’t pay me to do that. Sure you’ll always hear the one guy who daily drives a manual caterpillar bulldozer and says it’s not bad at all. Ignore that person. Get an auto if DD and traffic. If you must have a manual get a baser GT and save sh1t tons of money and still have a fun and fast car that sounds awesome without being annoying.

Agree, aside from those aspects, it just seems wrong to DD a 350. That’s what the GT/eco boost was built for. And the 350 is that special car you drive on Fridays or race on the weekends or just a fun car.

I daily drove a Viper GTS and it was amazing. I still would if it could fit a rear facing baby seat. Daily driving a GT350 is no different than a PP1 GT, maybe even better since it has those magnetic shocks.

You're probably right but I do question those who want a quiet comfortable daily driver why they go for a Mustang rather than say an SUV? The Mustang is my weekend car

Mine too or my after work car since I work from home. I wouldn't sit in bumper to bumper in a gas guzzling V8 anyway. Certainly not a manual GT 350. I would commute in an SUV though either but rather a comfortable economical like I used to in my '14 Jetta 1.8.

Well, honestly, in no many words. Go back and read the thread. The person I was responding to with was using "drives better" and "feels better" as though they were uncontrovertible fact. I made the statement that those terms were subjective. If you want to disagree with that, have at it.
Of course there's some subjectivity. And I specifically read through your sig to see where your basis might be coming from.

But given that the vast majority of people associate "driving better" with improved ride quality because they don't drive their cars hard enough to know what else there might be to it, it's safe to assume that most people only do mean "rides better".

Vehicle dynamics-wise, there isn't enough going on in the average driver's normal street driving for him to notice anything else.

I'll be that guy. I DD a car that's as stiff as a GT350R, and similarly loud. It's more than fine, and in fact makes the commute more than just a boring 20 min commute. FYI you can have a firm car that isn't harsh. Everyone has their own preferences, and I get the people who want soft, cushy, quiet all the time. To them I say: don't buy a Mustang. The GT is a shell of itself with the base, super soft, clumsy and wobbly suspension and extremely muted exhaust note (though this is improved for 2018). It is unbelievable how much better and more fun it is to drive when done right...even in traffic. Every time I'm away for a week with a bland rental car, getting to drive mine again is like a treat, and I appreciate it all over again.

I DD my GT350. Normal mode isn't really that bad. Yes you can feel a lot of stuff going on in the road but the word I like/think is appropriate is "surface compliant" not exactly harsh.

I found out a really long time ago that driving anything in heavy traffic gets old really quick. Doesn't much matter how much or how little you have to do, you're still stuck in it.

So you might as well do whatever you can to make it enjoyable for you. For many people, this does mean as much isolation from the business of driving or distraction with as many creature features as possible. For others, that's not the right answer . . . maybe just knowing you're more than OK driving something in traffic that most other people would never choose for the same driving is part of it.

Actually saw a GT350 out in moderately heavy traffic yesterday. Not quite "rush-hour" heavy, but not light and fast-moving by any stretch of the imagination.

I'll like to chime in from another perspective. I bought the GT350 to keep me awake during heavy traffic which is every day to work and back home. The A/T couldn't keep me up and the flow of clutch and shifting gears keeps me awake instead of a daze. However, you got to come from a perspective that A/T in heavy traffic is slowly killing you to appreciate the love that comes with a manual transmission. I essentially drive the A/T what should be my daily, currently only 2 days of the week, lol. I'm actually even thinking about selling it cause it just kills me inside each time I'm in it.

Base is super soft, clumsy, and wobbly? LOL. On the street it sure isn’t. It’s a pure joy to drive and handles great.
Enjoy your stiff commute. Glad I’m not you.

Well, I gotta tell you, the only information you're going to glean from that analysis is my employment's lack of tolerance for tardiness due to road conditions.

Like I said above, there isn't enough going on vehicle dynamics-wise in most street driving for descriptions like soft/clumsy/wobbly to become apparent to most people. Under hard braking could be the exception, except that most people aren't too concerned with the way their car subjectively feels during such episodes. They've got more urgent things on their mind . . .

There's nothing wrong with that, other than it making it difficult to imagine what your driving does not encounter.
