Did some searching to no avail. So, while this goes against the grain, is there anything reasonable I can have done to my 2019 GT to improve the ride? It doesn't have Magnaride. I know most want the opposite in stiffer suspension, etc. but recent back surgery makes driving it unpleasant. I like it for it's looks and sound (AE) and don't need driving performance. I'm sure many will say it's the nature of the beast and I shouldn't have ordered it. A pre-drive wasn't enough to really know the ride.

Cant speak for what is available to you, but here in Germany i go and buy a KW Suspensions V3 and ask them for a really comfortable Setting.

They can make you a set with softer springs to make it even better.

Next, or better first thing would be 19" Rims with Michelin PS4 (without the S)

The GT gives a bouncy ride on the factory dampers. I would consider talking to Steeda and look at the Steeda Pro-Action ADJUSTABLE shocks and strut kit. I think setting them to full soft might be your solution. Others with experience with these can chime in.

On my 2016 PP1 car, I did Steeda Pro Action Adjustable shocks and struts, and Firestone Indy 500 tires.

The combination was incredibly comfortable. Firm and stable, but comfortable. No impact harshness.

The difference that really high quality shocks and struts make is amazing.

Koni has adjustable struts and shocks for our cars, how soft they go is a question. The EcoBoost springs and struts may be softer than the GT (but may lower the front). Progressive springs could soften the initial travel. 18" wheels would have tires with more sidewall and could be softer.

I have an 18 GT premium convertible and I specifically looked for one with 18" wheels because the taller sidewall gives a much nicer ride.

I have an almost new set of Steeda progressive springs and Pro-Active shocks sitting on a shelf in need of a new home. Cut your bump stops way back too. Or better yet get some Eibach units and cut them back as well.

How well does that Mach 1 ride?

I would start at the point of pain and work toward the hiway.
Talk to someone about building you a better seat. You could buy a used seat and let the specialist design what you need.

If you decide to sell later you could put original back in car.

I drive a 1995 Cougar with a great seat.

As I get older and have more aches and pains, I'm also starting to think about ride comfort more than I did a few years ago.

I don't know what wheels and tire you have now, but as Balr14 noted above, going to the standard 18x8 wheels with the original-size 235/50 tires may reduce the harshness at the expense of also losing handling grip. However, those wheels won't work if you have the large Performance Pack brakes.

If you have a PP1 car, you could try something like reducing your tire pressure (within reason) or changing to a tire with a taller sidewall for example, going from 275/40R19 to 255/45R19. Again, you'd be losing some handling capability and it's hard to say how much change in ride comfort there would be.

I do have the 18* wheels. I always order the smallest wheel size be it my F150 or her Nautilus for that exact reason. Unfortunately the stylests win with larger and larger wheel diameters.

I checked those on Steeda's site. Since I can't install those myself, where would be the best place to have them installed? Also, do the Firestones ride better than the factory 18"s? More flex on their sidewalls?

you want soft, you want the Continental DWS06.

This. I went with 19" wheels with 255 DWS's for my Winter set up. My summer setup was a 20" wheel with Conti Extreme Contacts. I noticed a big difference when I first put the DWS's on. I got used to a little more give, and really enjoyed the improved ride comfort. I recently switched back and man... Yes I can be more aggressive carving corners, but it definitely beats you up a lot more. I've got Roush Coil Overs and no Magnaride, so I get what I get, but if you want a way to get a pretty significant difference, look at as much sidewall as you can get. Good luck!
